The great thing about Trump is the way he breaks things down.  There's no BS with this guy.  He itemizes the specifities and whatnot.  He'll be looking at this, he'll be looking at that, he'll be looking at a lot of things, plus that other thing, you know the one. What more could you ask for?

Does the liberal control media exist???  ESPN happened to show the 30 for 30 episode "Who killed the USFL" the same week that he announced his intent to run.
Then you watch the show and your like Ok he can't be President, he actually thought he could have USFL move to the fall and take on the NFL.

Pretty entertaining write-up the of the last debate here:

nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/09/second-debate-republicans-out-crazy-trump.html

I especially liked the line, "It was telling that Rubio defined literally any policy response to the theory of anthropogenic global warming as economy-destroying."  A view that could be credited to most Republican politicians, I imagine, and probably a lot of Democratic ones, too.

Sorry, I don't even have the sense of humor for this one - I appreciate the irony crazystengel - but people laughed at a lot of other dangerous people who ended up in power. My sense of history is stronger than my sense of humor. And my Spidey sense is tingling !

Still, a general election between a fascist and a socialist would break up the neoliberal, free market, globalization, military-industrial complex, arrogant establishment center monotony a bit.

Still, if we had to get someone way out line with the usual Republican party line, I would have much preferred it to be Rand Paul. No luck, even rooting for enemies !

italyprof, re: humor.  It was Oscar Wilde who said, of Dickens and his sentimentality, "One must have a heart of stone to read the death of little Nell without laughing."

Sometimes laughter is appropriate; sometimes it's inappropriate, which can make it even more precious.  I just finished watching the Theresienstadt documentary "The Last of the Unjust" by the great Claude Lanzmann (of "Shoah" fame).  At nearly four hours long, I shudder to think what it would have been like without the occasional saving grace of humor.

Regardless of what happens with Donald Trump in the future, he's funny.  He says funny things, and he says things funny, and it's just funny in general that someone like him even exists, and is "successful" (in the narrow sense that many define success -- i.e., money money money).  Let's enjoy him while we can!

Another 4-8 years of an Obama clone spells the end of this country as a world power.  The USA will turtle up just as Europe has, Putin will become a dominant force on the world stage much like the old USSR, and our foreign enemies will more and more become our domestic enemies. This country needs a shot of adrenaline, and if it's Trump so be it. We won't see him bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia.

One could, without much difficulty, find very similar quotes from every election with a democratic incumbent going back to (at least) 1936.  It's no more compelling in 2015 than it has been when used anytime in the past 80 years.

Every election, period, really. Different justifications used, but hatred for the other side is a long political tradition no matter who you are.

It's arguably gotten a lot worse over the past 10 years or so. But it's always been there.

Not sure I've heard anybody mention, "the most important election in history", but any good liberal knows when to throw the curve to get off topic.  Every election has certain domestic and foreign issues on the table. This election is no exception. Why is it an issue of "hatred of the other side" if you are concerned with your country's welfare? I certainly don't "hate" people who disagree with me and I doubt anyone on this forum does either.

Sorry for the "curve."  But it did sound like you were forecasting some serious doom and gloom with "The USA will turtle up just as Europe has, Putin will become a dominant force on the world stage much like the old USSR, and our foreign enemies will more and more become our domestic enemies."  Forgive me if I misinterpreted your post.

No, I get it. A few sentences on a forum probably must sound like doom and gloom, only need to read some of the previous posts. However any candidate stating their positions on any issue is projecting the consequences "down the road".
