My initial post was phrased as a statement followed by a question. The question questioned my statement. Then both you and wiz noted the SSS after I'd already noted it.

A season is a small sample size. At what point would you draw a conclusion?

That’s kinda my point. With so much noise (different opponents, varying player ratings, general rebounding randomness), your sample size would have to be huge.

Not to say that IQ doesn’t impact rebounds, the dev chat revealed that, but the extent isn’t known and your example sheds zero light.

So, essentially, we can never make any educated guesses as we only have 27-30 games, against various opponents, before we have to start over.

Goddammit. We just might as well throw darts blindfolded. There is simply nothing we can figure out in this game.

So on a scale of 1-10 where 10 is educated guesses helping us figure out the game and 1 being blindfolded darts, where would you place your 6 game rebound sample?

Anyway, by my estimation, I should switch O/D when the 5 guys getting 65% of the playing time reach IQ of C+. That should be mid-season. So, if Tebo starts rebounding more than/equal to Jansen in a 3-2 zone/triangle, will you still say "small sample size" or might it be a hint to something/anything?

Nonetheless, I already agreed it was a SSS. Said as much in the 2nd post in this thread. And, additionally, pointed at that a season is a small sample size. Sadly, in HD, we're only going to get SSS as seasons are somewhere between 27-33(?) games..

Now, and I know it hurts you to answer questions, when I switch O/D at mid-season, will that mean anything if Tebo starts to rebound better/Jansen starts to rebound worse with the same O/D IQ? Or will you simply write it off as SSS?

For one, eleventy billion isn’t between 1 and 10.

Two, your offensive system won’t impact rebounds.

Three, yeah, it’s still a small sample. Way too small to give us any idea how much IQ impacts rebounding.

You should probably remove practice points from Reb and conditioning then.
