Win a couple championships at DII! This coach in my conference jumped from DII straight to UConn....never seen such a jump before until he did it.

That's an impressive resume at Florida Tech! I can understand how he was eligible for some Big 6, but I wouldn't have guessed UConn being A+ baseline was even possible from D2.
This is the main reason I'm tempted to stay at D2. It's probably my best shot at getting a championship and my current team should be strong for the next few seasons. I just don't want to do it if a few more good D2 seasons doesn't get me any closer to a Big 6 job.
I've been eligible for UCONN, UNC, and several other very high profile schools while coaching at D2. It usually took a combination of a lot of success for me and a bad, bad series of seasons that dropped the elite program to a low enough prestige that I'd be eligible. At one point, with one of my schools, there were only four D1 teams that I was not qualified for. Unfortunately, one of those four was the school that I would have chosen so I stayed put in D2. Point being is that is entirely possible to make that kind of jump under the right set of circumstances. Just my two cents....
