North florida is on a whole different level at this point. we're all just trying to keep up in the Peach Belt South. FTB: happy to get you on the schedule next year!

zorzii, I don't know if I agree with you on that. Yeah, teamvip has us all captive right now in D2, but only 1/2 of his roster this season is from Florida. His recruiting advantage is just as much about none of us challenging teamvip in Florida as it is him having recruits nearby (its not like the game puts all the good players in Florida). We could argue that geneferrel out at St. Leo had the same advantage but we didn't see his teams dominating in the NT the way teamvip has. Additionally, there were plenty of teams this year in IBA that had better squads than him this year, he just out lasted everyone, again... Trust me I am annoyed by his success, too.

Additionally, I also would argue that the west coast and the heartland area have more of an advantage recruiting that Florida (I mean why do you think I've started scouting and recruiting out there). Do I want to screw around with the ACC and SEC... and then the quality schools in the CVAC as well... pass... Part of my struggle with threads like this one is that, yes a recruit SHOULD sign with a D1 school over a D2 school easily (we all know that) and it should be the same for D2s over D3's, but it isn't. So the D1s will have to adjust... It sucks agree.

But I saw Medders and passed on him. He is going to be a really good player, but when... his Junior or Senior year? I mean he is a 26 WE, I can't imagine Medders being a player in D1 that you would feel good rolling out onto the court for his first two years. So why the complaining? To zorzii's point, this guy (below) although he won't be able to score is a guy that can impact your team immediately and teamvip signed him uncontested from any humans. I am just saying if I was a D1 I wouldn't be picking fights with D2 players over guys like Medders. That's all....

The simple solution for the recruiting issue is to put the cap back on D2 and D3 schools, where we can only get players of a certain caliber like in 2.0, but it doesn't seem like there's interest in doing that, yet...

zorzii, I am not trying to start crap, but I play teamvip multiple times every season, I've sitemailed the guy, and basically learned HD from him and getbedarded. To chalk his success up to a recruiting advantage is short sighted. There is nothing stopping the CVAC or the rest of PB, or any other school from going after the same players, we just don't want to. Or frankly might even be a little scared, too...

I think there is plenty of interest from a lot of active forum posters. Maybe not from Seble however.

"active forum posters" compose around 1% of HD users. I wouldn't put much stock in their interest.

VIP is probably getting a bit of an advantage because the Iba D1 population is very low. And if you look closer, in that area of the country there aren't many D1 Low to Mid Majors to snatch up recruits so they fall down to him (and others).

Here's a map of D1 teams in Iba

Red is A prestige, Orange is B, Yellow is C, Green is D.

You got big dogs fighting each other in the south but it's not very crowded for teams rebuilding.

Adlorenz : Of course he is playing the game at such a high level, it's tough to keep up with him. We are all annoyed because he is so good. But I am mostly talking about our CVAC and Peach teams, where we all are on the same recruits and we have to battle the ACC and the SEC too. It makes it tough for us to compete against his squad. I am mostly recruiting near my campus, VA, SC, NC,GA so most my players are contested, while he does have less competition in Florida. And when I look at his roster, except from that Mexico guy and that Massachusetts guy, he does as I do, stay within the limits. That being said, he is good for the game, he makes us change our strategy and work harder at our team. I did. I think Pfeiffer is a legit contender this season, we'll see what happens.

Are you saying the sample size is too small draw any reliable conclusions?

Benis: That is why coaching D2 in Iba is so fun and competitive compared to other worlds, regardless of the gap between teamvip and the rest of us. I'm 0-14 against the guy and his game-planning instincts are insane. Regardless of which crazy plan I try to throw at him to change it up, he seems to anticipate it and make a slight change that just wrecks me in the play-by-play.

Zorzii: I've been dabbling in FL too and there's a lot of D1 leftovers for the taking if you're willing to battle D1 late-comers with low prestige. I just wish we could fill out the Peach Belt north to bring us back to supremacy over your CVAC league again:)

Did you see that 1 game "test" trentonjoe was doing? If not, you should check it out.

I have tried recruiting Florida from Fort Hays State in Kansas. Got a player from there in my last class. Not much luck so far getting a big dog out of Florida. It will happen eventually.

Where did you get the map from? I'd be interested in seeing the rest of it and how it compares to other worlds.

I was shocked that he signed with me at lander. I did promise the start and 25 min. But once I saw you were very high I actually took away some AP so who knows. I guess my percentage was still high enough up to have a slight chance and then I just got super lucky.
Congrats on getting him. I hate it for me, but at least it wasn't Sim AI :)

Very cool map. How'd you create that?

I should also add, I have another recruit that I'm after, where I have maxed out visits and promised time and can't even get above moderate against a D2 school. I've been in love with the 3.0 changes, but things are quickly changing (and this is not a recruit that I just started recruiting, I've been on him since the start of recruiting)
