If I have a team that usually creates fouls, how would slowdown affect that aspect of a team? @trentonjoe

Less opportunities to get fouled thus shoot FT.

It will decrease the number of fouls you draw, especially in FB and Motion.

Yeah, when playing teams like your Redlands teams it's all about limiting the chances to foul. If I have a man or press team and I play that team I am probably going slowdown -1. If I am super confident in my defensive ability I might go -2 or -3 but your ATH scores are so high I don't think I have done that to you.

In your case, as long as you have an 11/12 man rotation, you probably should keep the uptempo thing going. With the 9 man you have this year it might be tough, I assume your guys would get fatigued at uptempo.

Yeah this year my 1-3 are playing 30 mins a game, so I probably should have played slowdown a lot more this year. Would you recommend going slowdown next year to maximize my frontloaded roster?

yes limits chances to foul and keeps your talent on the floor

It depends on how you score. If you can score without going to the line, then yeah. If you need to averae 30 FT's a game then no.

Taking a quick look, if you fill your roster spots, I would probably keep the uptempo thing going. You seem pretty ATH/LP based (the 90 PER guy is a nice touch) and those type of guys tend to draw the fouls that opponents hate.

His team won't foul as long as they aren't fatigued.

not to derail, but I can never tell when to go uptempo. I ran it in the first round with my UNLV team against Pitt because they always run slow down and I thought if I jumped out to an early lead it would be difficult for them to come back...of course that plan completely failed because I couldnt make a friggin shot...which maybe the uptempo attributed to?
I tend to go uptempo when I have a noticeable advantage in ATH/SPD/DEF over my opponent. Slowdown, when I have a noticeable disadvantage in ATH/SPD/DEF. And normal when we're close in those ratings, unless they have me in other ratings and I'm a significant (10+ point) underdog, in which case I also go slowdown.

Well, as much.

Increased possessions = increased opportunities to commitcommit fouls.

Is it just me or is it less fun?

Part of the enjoyment for me is getting a guy on the school's all-time leaderboard. With slowdown, it's just less likely to happen because of fewer possessions. At least, with HBD, you can play in an extreme pitcher's park and tailor your team to win the 1-0, 2-1 games but still get pitching records. With slowdown offense, there are no records to get.

And, yes, I know overmatched teams, like UNC-A, should play it exclusively.
all i care about is dubs not individual stats.

Give me 32 RPI with slowdown over 34 RPI with uptempo.

I’ve been using slowdown with my Wooden Colorado team because I have really good starters and only decent backups. It’s been working pretty well for me.
I also have a wooden colorado team (DI) and won a ship running slowdown in the 2r, E8, and NC game because I only had 3 good players.

Sure, but ATH's and DEF as high as his are in little to no danger of getting in foul trouble unless they are fatigued.

It's reasonably common to see slow down in the later rounds of the NT at D1.
