Cap political contributions at $100 each and put serious spending limits on candidates (that vary depending on the scope of their elected area - i.e. local, state or federal). These restrictions would severely limit the importance and influence that Parties have, and would enable politicians to vote for their constituents' best interests instead. Then if they don't, they have no excuses and should get voted out next time.

This. Get rid of Super Pac's and overturn Citizens United. Term limits everywhere.

I like this idea. Also, set term limits so politicians aren't always concerned with getting re-elected. As I have stated before, I think most politicians will do or say whatever it takes to be re-elected. If that is not a concern, they would be more interested in doing the right thing instead of he thing that will get them re-elected.
