Big Decision - Which Player Topic

These choices are always difficult, because even with $20M scouting the actual numbers will be off, so we're all just throwing darts. I'm basically with dedelman here. I like A's health better (I'm not a big injury bug fan) as well as his DUR. He should be able to start at third and keep going in RF when his arm degenerates. His DUR will also make his OVR more attractive to newbies should you want to deal him. B's switch bat against righties make it a close call, but I think fielding trumps slightly, especially if B's glove ends up around 40.

It’s just so hard to pass up that bat, and now that I know he’s a switch hitter too, it makes it even harder. Considering I have no team needs because I’m at the start of a rebuild, I think I’m leaning towards him.

A and B are probably both hall of fame players, but given the choice of positions you would always rather have the scarcer position on the hierarchy (SS-CF-3B-2B-C-RF-LF-1B-DH). Every single offseason there are at least 3 very good LF/1B/DH bats available in FA and another half dozen available for trade. It's one of the easiest things to acquire in my opinion. HOF infielders are unicorns

Here are my two remaining questions. How much of a better hitter is player B than A? If they were even or if they were very close I'd go with A, but I see B as a multi-time MVP. I don't see the hitting as similar. Do you guys? Also, is A 100% certain to sign with the message I wrote previously?

MVP award itself is arbitrary and relative to human perception as opposed to mathematical value. Voting in both respects is skewed towards home runs, because home runs are sexy, and nothing else matters to people

They're both MVPs, just as they're both HOFers... in their own way. But yes, Player B will hit the most home runs, that is a certainty based on vR + power. But A contributes value in a different way overall from a scarcity perspective

I'm the guy who built both his teams defense first, and I'm advocating for the hitter. LOL

All three of these players are team cornerstones. Player A will be a hitter with a glove. But not a SS glove. He'll be a 3B or 2B.

Player C will be one of those regular 1B players.

The question here is are you going to bet on the potential ceiling of Player B as a hitter? Or the floor of player A as a cornerstone infielder? The answer is up to you. My play is the hitter because I can always find defense. Obviously others here think differently, which is fine.

I've mad my decision. I'm going for the home run (literally and figuratively) and taking Player B in Friday's draft. I'll report which ratings my advance scouting shows for each player.

You know what they say, chicks dig the long ball

Lol. Guarantee whoever I pick, I'll end up regretting.

One last question, what are their patience ratings?

Both pretty high, and the exact same number.

At the end of the day. I’m playing to win, and taking the risk over the safe pick. Fingers crossed. I think the owner behind me wants player A, but I like the big bat of player B.

Bro I just looked at your teams winning % and it doesn't look like playing to win to me lol unless I am missing something.

Look at the roster I endured. I mean I'm playing risky for the future. This was clearly a rebuild when I picked up this roster.

Fair enough, but what you're doing in the one is definitely tanking.
There are two teams with less money in player payroll than me. There are two teams with worse records than me. I choose to save money for IFA rather than use it on FAs who will be too old when I'm ready to compete. I still used the rule 5 draft and have used a lot of waiver claims to improve my team.
