citizen kane was about one of the first great newspaper tycoons , william randolph hearst......his home hearst castle was at one time considered the 9th wonder of the world...he unsuccessfully sued orson welles / studio for defamation but actually because of the use of rosebud in the..last scene...in the movie it stood for a childhood sled...in real life it was his pet name for his favorite part of his mistress marion davies, a great comedic actress of the 30s.
hearst was the grandfather of patty hearst.

what about "the Greatest Showman"? That was a musical, and I don't think it did that well.

i think you are right......they really havnt done hardly any good old musical comedies........one movie a number of years ago that was a throwback and i thought rather good but not extremely popular was down with love with renee zellinger.

i take that back.....i looked it up...it was actually a giant hit....435 million box office over 85 million budget.
and the cd was collossal.....number 1 in consecutive weeks comparable to sgt pepper and edele.
