1946 VICTORY LEAGUE Inaugural Draft Topic

I have never used it in all the years I've been in WIS so we'll take Seals Stadium.

I know it sounds like sour grapes, and it probably is, but I think we should have another drawing for the regular draft spots after the stadium draft or not make the draft serpentine. The Stadium draft really isn't very important but there is a big difference between drafting in the top 5 and the bottom 5. Especially in a limited amount of players like we have here.

Forbes Field, and agree with Husker . Would much rather have had ballpark draft in last round like others do it.

I understand where you're both coming from, but this is how it was set up before anyone even signed up. Draft order is pure luck, but the way this draft is set up, the "lucky" ones are the ones who drew #'s 15 and 16. It's just how it shook out.

As for the serpentine draft, I think that actually helps the teams at the bottom of the draft order, and the top picks in round one essentially become the bottom of the order for the player draft. If we were doing a more conventional draft and you guys ended up getting #'s 14, 15, or 16, I'm sure you'd be bummed, but wouldn't have any qualms about it. This draft order has nothing to do with merit, no one "earned" their spot, it's all luck.

I know and I do understand and did when I signed up. I am just stating my opinion and have no real problems with it. There will still be a few decent players left when my turn comes around again. Just don't think the stadium draft is nearly as important as the player draft.

I do agree that the player draft is much more important. But having us pick ballparks first isn't really a reflection of that, it's just how I thought to do it.

my thought was 2 seperate drafts...one for parks and one for players.

As in two different randomized draft orders? That would be a fine enough way to do it, but I won't change it now. This will work out fine in the end, I'm more focused on the long haul than just 1946.

Sportsman Park III
Do you want Sportsman's Park III in the NL or AL? It's available in each because of the Cards and the Browns.

I'll take Shibe Park (NL)

AL thanks
Got it, thanks. And that means that you can choose to relocate to Baltimore in 1954, though you won't have to.
