This is where I think you are missing the point of our concern. The biggest issue is replenishing the limited recruiting budget. If a coach spends every recruiting dollar in RS1, fails to renew, reapplies for the job, and gets it, he or she can now use recruiting dollars in another battle or worse yet, double down on a recruit. This is an obscene advantage.

It's technically a really exploitable loophole - until someone snatches your job from you, which is completely possible. Playing that game isn't worth it.

The problem is, and the habitual offenders here already know this, the previous coach has a leg up. Because the system favors them no matter who applies. So I've heard that you've done this multiple times bbunch, by now, I'm sure you've realized you're not gonna lose your team. And that's why this continues with coaches doing it repeatedly

(by the way, I have lost teams in the past forgetting to renew - my 4 time title winning DII Iba Longwood team I lost for that reason - and transfered to Mt. Olive, where I never had the same success).

That's the first I've heard of this. So if this is true, then at least it CAN happen. I felt like it wasn't possible. And the reason I say that..... one of the habitual offenders i know of, I'd always have a top notch coach apply for his job. And he NEVER got the job. Season after season this happened. And the coach that I was having apply for the job was the most elite of the elite.

So in my opinion it was always given back to the previous coach. If you say that isn't true, then that is new to me, and maybe I'm mistaken.

He boosted the WE of all his players. Player ratings were still limited by the potential limits.

Oh, I absoutely see the advantage, and it is ridiculous. I don't believe I have a history of using round II to use extra monies to double down on recruits, but it could have done it without thinking - i don't keep mental track of my budget between recruiting seasons all the time. It's not a normal/consistent method of mine.

Either way, I'm going to do my best to be on top of auto-renew, and I think all other coaches listed including myself need to do the same and not take take advantage of this. Clearly if I've used this to gain advantage- I'm done.....I'm just stating that I haven't sat around using it to repeatedly cheat. (this should be an easily close-able loophole by seble btw)

I don't plan to go anywhere. But again, I'm not hiding either. I'm into answering whatever questions yall have for me truthfully (whether you folks believe me or not). Yall have been fair about this. But other than Benis sending me an ominous ("I don't appreciate you cheating") sitemail, I didn't realize anything was amiss until this morning.

It does truly also need to be closed because people (without even doing this intentionally) can in any one instance
1. Legit forget to renew
2. Holy crap, they have a lot of new money
3. Blow everyone away in round 2 recruiting.

So I am in complete agreement with you fine folks.

I've had it set like that foreve (auto-renew), but I do sometimes run out of funds (my Rhode Island and Bucknell teams are not nearly as cash-beneficial as my 3 DII teams - a lot of 1st round exits or PIT runs) - and that's usually when the forgetfulness occurs. I'll try to do more 5 or 10 season packages which I never do. I'm a decent coach, but don't do well enough to pay for myself 100% of the time. Hawaii Pacific is probably my only school that consistently pays for itself.

Either way, I'll fix it on my end.

Never was aware of this but also don’t understand why you would take the chance of loosing your team to a better applicant unless you don’t care. I do not know if that’s why he does it but Trentonjoe renews late every year at Georgetown (Rupp). Someone else got the job this year and he must have planted tulips to get it back. This is the same cat that a few seasons back lost a 5star stud to in-conference Syracuse because he didn’t offer a scholarship. So....

I promise I'm not specifically talking about you on this topic at all. I just meant for everyone in HD. This isn't a bbunch thing. This is something that dozens of coaches don't do which is really odd to me

It seems like the job is given to the coach with the best resume, not always the same coach. So if a super-successful D1 coach jumps in on a top-notch DII position, I believe that can happen. Of course, I have no clarity on that....but it did happen to me once (as I lost a DII Iba Longwood team after quite a strong resume). Every other time, though, I got the job back.

We're on the same page - just trying to take some ownership and responsibility here as it does look pretty bad.

But what I'm saying is that on my end, I've had it set to auto-renew for years - sometimes I just run out of money and the auto-renew doesnt happen. That's the case, not that I don't have the auto-renew buttons checked.

IMO bbunch is fine and only folks who have done this multiple times in a not-huge span of time, should be getting called out. everyone should get the benefit of the doubt if its the first time someone has seen them do it.
