I use the dots for prospects also:
Green: Potential star
Amber: Potential MLB starter
Red: Potential borderline starter/ MLB bench playerl

This is exactly how I use the dots

I let simmy run my minors, so I scan them occasionally to easily make sure the dots aren't overly fatigued, and haven't been deactivated by simmy.

green = MLB player
yellow = back end roster player/4A/trade bait
red = trade bait

I do one thing a little different when my players get to the majors, since they don't need "prospect watching"...
Because I set up the next season while the current season ends, my ML players get Contract Status dots.
Green = definite re-sign either before or after rollover (but it's a reminder)
Yellow = Arb status questionable (second or third, see what the demand is)
Red = not on my 40 next season

For me, Green is for potential ML guys, Yellow is for players who were green and got too old or who may need a DITR to get to green; and Red is "stop, don't trade that guy, you want to keep him!"

EDIT - the red dot doesn't get much use.

Green - Superstar quality
Yellow- maybe ML player
Red - scrub, get rid of in the off season

I can’t believe I never used these lol. It’s so helpful. I like following guys with DITR potential and this makes it 1000 times easier. For me, I’m doing:

Green: top prospects
Yellow: next tier, MLB potential/role players but not studs.
Red: DITR potential

I have been playing HBD since 2007 and I have never noticed or used this function. Wow

I think it was only added five or six years ago...?

I wish they had more dots with different colors and a way to list what you want each to mean. Therefore when next owner takes over, you will know what they were thinking with those players.
