"wants success" for a DI program should weigh so much more than "wants success" for the DIII program.

Yeah, fix this. And only do VH, VH rolls. I lost a 75-25 roll this morning and it is impossible to think it’s logic.
Why is it impossible to think that something that would happen 25% of the time happened?

You know how many times I've been 2- or 3-outered in poker games? Or pulled runner-runner after a bluff shove? Low probability events can happen quite often when you have big samples.
You go on odds in poker and sometimes odds, when the card is shown, go against you… But you definetly lose if you don't have the best cards. So odds change the outcome. When I go into a battle, I go on odds and what I have seen from the other team. Once we all made our efforts, one has a definite advantage., thus the best cards. It depends on whether I read the game correctly or not.

For recruiting, it's more like both players are all in after the turn and turn their cards face up. You may have the best cards at this point but there is still one more card to come on the river.

I'm the d3 coach. Shoe is right that if he had been able to offer even 1 cycle earlier I would've bailed and scrounged for another recruit(or taken a walk-on). As it was he was at low with the offer with one cycle left before I could sign him. I was actually considering trying to red shirt him. I assumed I was done and just threw out the promised minutes and promised start just to see what happens. I'm glad I did and really should've given him 25 minutes to increase my odds. I feel a bit guilty about winning that one, but I'll get over it. :)

Never feel guilty about winning. MJ hit dagger after improbable dagger in his career. I guarantee he felt guilty about none of them.
