Practice minutes example for newbie ? Topic

Is there anyone out there who does ONLY practice 1 formation that is NOT a running formation ? are there any cats out there who are only practicing Trips, Shotgun or Pro set ? or do the owners who only practice 1 formation strictly run the ball down your throat all day long ?

I'm building all of my teams to be 100% shotgun all the time. Not sure if this will be successful, but I thought it would be interesting. That said, when i took over each team, the SIM doesn't practice SG much. So in order to build wins, I progressed though running I-formation then to Trips and then ultimately to SG. This progression has taken multiple seasons. Several of my teams are now 100% SG. For those teams SG is the only formation I practice on offense (15 min)

Way to not listen.
I am here looking for advice on how "I" can set-up "MY own team", In the way that "I" would want it to look. I certainly did not come in here to copy someone else plan to the tee. So although i have had good advice here that has helped me mold my practice time. The final say is still mine. I really am truly confused as to what exactly you are doing here though Badaxe..... This is a game for people who like to think on their own. Who's plan did you copy? Funny that you wrote only 4 words but said so much about yourself. Judging by your screen name "Badaxe" and the fact that you think advice is instruction only lends credence to the fact you are not a person who can think for themselves and must be placed in a structured environment. I would guess Badaxe would be to damn bad for the Air Force or Navy so what is it buddy Marine, former Marine? Oh hey, Way to not Think.

and i don't think there are very many teams giving the Nickel the practice time needed to counter the SG ! I wish i had thought of it first.

Currently I am into Pro and ND(not on same team). But a very short time ago I ran mostly all Trips teams.
And let me say that many may call Trips a passing offense. But I used to run a very blended run pass offense. You can run just fine with trips. Just ran it so long I got bored and needed a change.

So that's the direction I am headed. I was going to run Trips with a Pro Set, but i have since ditched the Pro Set and i have been convinced to go with only 1 formation. Still practicing 2 Defenses though.

Me. I on only practice I form 85%pass. 3-4. special teams.
The best idea is:
  • recruit the best players you can(cores)
  • develop them the best you can(we/pot)
  • Keep the ball in your best players hands for as long as you can before realizing there backup will be better.(fatigue)
  • everything in this game is nothing more than math. recruiting and gameplay, all math

Nice rant!

mojolad gave you the best advice, one formation on offense and defense. You need to max your players practice, and max your formation IQ.

And I don't copy anybody's plan. I read the forums and hear what others have to say, but I don't use GUESS to recruit, or WIS ratings, I developed my own formulae to rank prospects.

I am curious about what you think my screen name means.

I think it means that it is a town in Minnesota or Michigan maybe. I forget.

This is the part I am curious about. He takes my name and his mind-reading about what I think, and spins some conclusions out of the air, and then seems to insult the Air Force, the Navy and the Marines, or insults me, not sure.

I did not serve in any of those branches of the armed forces, BTW.

And I was born in Bad Axe, Michigan.

Yeah, I'm not sure of that guys motives. But I remembered seeing that town when zooming in on the gd maps. I knew it was in the rustbelt somewhere.

Ok, ok, now you have really peaked my interest. This line in particular... " I don't use GUESS to recruit, or WIS ratings, I developed my own formulae to rank prospects" .I start Recruiting in 2 days and one thing I noticed is that Game Instinct is a core attribute not Technique, in positions that you would assume Technique would be prevalent such as WR or OL. Can anyone confirm that yes Game Instinct is in fact more important than Technique in the previous mentioned positions ? Has that been tested ? Ok. now let's get to your screen name... You could've been a lumberjack but it's 2020 and they have better than an axe these days. Maybe a Fireman but... the fact that you have your own method of recruiting that somehow does not involve WiS ratings is really quite creative. Does your screen name represent a Rock-N-Roll Guitar player ?

Bad Axe is the county seat of Huron County, which is basically the tip of the Thumb of Michigan, is one of the richest agricultural area in Michigan, and is also the windiest county in Michigan, which explains the windmill farms up there. Less than 32,000 people live there year round, but in the summer the population easily doubles with the cottages along the lake shore occupied. The population of Bad Axe is less than 3,200 and that's the largest city.
