I do not see the reverse racism in such a policy because reverse racism does not and cannot exist. It is a word white people use when they are upset that not absolutely everything is going their way.
That's a stupid and reactionary statement.

Reverse racism can and does exist in our society.
I'm mixed race. Heinz 47 kinda.
But pretty white except in summer when I get pretty red.

I've been to gatherings wherein I was the ONLY "fair-skinned" person in attendance.
Now, I wasn't any sort of victim of anything!
Most people are kind and not jerks.
BUT, I DID experience some reverse racism.
Some folks didn't appreciate my presence there because I wasn't one of them.
I'm quite sure that a part of that was the FACT that I was viewed as a gringo.
I didn't whine and ask for special favors.

I went about my business and eventually was treated as any OTHER attendee.
The one thing I didn't DO was cry foul...............and demand that you "Treat me fairly or else I'm gonna make a big deal racist issue of of this"!

To me, that appears to be what's happening here.
IF the professor was going to waive the test requirement he NEEDED to do it for ALL his students regardless of color.
What you want is RACIST!

Trauma is not just an issue for Black students, and it is more than a little racist to imply that it is. Long answer short, it is something anybody can experience but it is especially prominent in marginalized communities. Not, to be clear, because they are "babies" as you so eloquently put it, but because they are victims of oppression from an unjust system that continually puts them in harm's way and provides them less opportunities.

You engaged him, Bob. What were you thinking?
How come Trump supporters always prefer to ignore someone rather than consider any opposing views? :)

I do not see how any rational person can defend this. Which, of course, does not preclude RSP from doing so.
Nobody is looking to defend anything. We now act in the open for all to see.

This isn't about renaming streets or knocking down statues. This isn't about justice or reform. This isn't about antifascism or antiracism. This is about antiyou. Everyone has one comment in their past that we can distort into something offensive. If we can't find one from your past, we'll create one in your future. The next time you say hello, we have you. Hello comes from Old High German, which in turn was influenced by Old High French. Both are white languages, racist and oppressive languages, languages of the petite bourgeoisie that we will destroy.

Next time you say "Hello," we will label you as a white language supremacist and destroy your ability to earn a living.
Wut

Wow, calling strikeout a Trump supporter simply because he doesn't agree with your ridiculously leftist thinking is incredibly sad and incredibly hilarious at the same time. He's so far from it, but you jump to conclusions on the basis of one comment that you overblow. Is (very wrongly) labeling someone based on one comment what you consider to be a way of striving for unity between all?
6/10/2020 9:55 AM
Just because someone does not vote for Trump does not mean that person does not have the ideology of a Trump supporter.

I understand the point you're trying to make.

BUT, black college students attending UCLA are definitely NOT marginalized victims of oppression!
They happen to be attending a 1st rate college in the California State College system at a very nice and comfortable learning environment.
They are about the least oppressed group of colored folk I could point too.

Visit ANY Indian reservation.
You'll find far more systematic oppression, poverty and governmental neglect and racist treatment than any other place in the Country.
In comparison blacks have had it much better.

It's time for them to become part of the whole.
That may mean some need to stop taking advantage of the guilt we whites have over our horrid racist actions of the 17th - 19th Centuries.
Stop whining in excess of the current situation, pull up your boot straps and join us in trying to eliminate the practices and policies of the past by working within the system WITH the good whites (there ARE some!) in office now.

Stop with the I'm a victim BS and START with the I'm gonna be the vehicle for change and stand up for Justice for all and that means stop blaming others for my current plight.
Thomas Jefferson (or Mark Twain) is NOT responsible for how ANY individual black man (or woman!) is treated in America today.
In fact I'd go so far to say that in almost ALL cases. How any individual black person is treated today depends FAR more on the attitudes and actions of the individual in question. He/She could be green or orange and given a certain attitude they WILL get treated harshly by some in authority within this (OR ANY OTHER) Country. It's more about attitude and behavior than it is color in almost all cases.

Horrible attempt at deflecting from your rushed and very wrong labeling of a person.
Again, is that how you think people will be brought together?

I know you mean well, and I very much like debating with you :) but this above statement comes from a complete place of PRIVILEGE. How can you tell other people what their experiences are?

lol, don't question the dogma or we'll be antiyou too.

It's hard for me to play hate on the Internet for even the time it takes to write a sarcastic paragraph. How do activists types live and breathe real, heart-felt hatred every day of their lives without it destroying them?

I'll probably get an answer after they finish their 1,000 calorie breakfast, check their $1,000 smart phone for messages and turn the AC down a degree in their wall-to-wall carpeted home.

Activists breathe stopping hate! Silencing hate!

Honestly, it seems you have more hate than anyone here, except maybe rsp.

Oh yeah. The list could go on forever.

What's happening right now is not activism. It's the reactions of an omnipotent child having a temper tantrum.
