potential did not exist for all of 1.0, and the class rankings were not updated when 2.0 came out, or as far as i know, any time since (i can't guarantee it wasn't changed in 3.0, but i'm 100% sure it wasn't a factor prior). so i think its safe to say, potential is not a factor.

the rankings were closer to real back in the day, in 1.0 times, but they were never great. now with the potential being ignored, they are pretty trash.

JUCO and Transfer recruits definitely don't help your recruiting rankings.

If you recruit studs, walkons shouldn't matter.

I like to take walk-ons pretty heavily (2/3 per year generally, sometimes I'm lucky and only have 1) so I just won a title in Wooden D1 with only having 1 recruiting class of top 20 or something despite the fact I was basically only signing 5 stars/4 stars.

I also feel like if potential did play in, you would see class rankings play out closer to how future results would turn out. And that's definitely not the case.

in other words, if you had a six man class that was ranked 1, and the classes ranked 2, 3, and 4 also had six man classes, it's likely that the four of those schools would be serious F4 contenders when those guys are seniors, if potential was factored in.

I never take note of anything related to class rankings, but I think it's safe to say that all four of those teams would turn out completely different in talent. So I'd rule out potential as a factor as well

Thanks for all of the info. I guess signing a d3 senior transfer who isnt good, signing a juco and cutting a bum I didn't recruit dropped me a lot. No big deal. I know it means nothing in the scheme of things. I got a long way to go with this team. Just lost by 50+ to Elmhurst in first exhibition game lol.

I have always seemed to notice that defense and FT ratings play a huge factor in recruiting class rankings. Not sure if that's true or not though.
