So I'm first up when the clock starts tomorrow. I'm assuming I can make both my picks then, if people don't make a pick by then.

Currently we are OFF the clock, so the times are not hard deadlines for the time being.

Once we are ON the clock (amerk and/or kelly will tell us when that is), you can draft as soon as you are next in line, and as soon as that happens, the next person can pick, which would be you since you are at the turn. The end of your exclusive time slot is your deadline to finish making your pick, but never precludes you from making your pick as long as the person before you has already picked.

If someone misses their time slot, the next person can jump in, and the draft continues. The person who ran out of time can make their pick at any point after that.

As someone who has picked at the turn before, it's recommended (and will make the league happy) to make both your picks the night before, that way we can get a few picks in at the end of the day. This isn't a requirement, just what everyone typically does who picks 1 or 24.

Tulsa is exactly right. The only thing I will add is that being OFF the clock means that no one can be skipped (that's what makes it take so long). So there are still 14 picks to be made before you are up. As Tulsa said, once we are On the clock (soon I hope) you cannot be skipped until your assigned time slot expires, but once it does the draft can proceed.

Kinda thought that we had an informal 12 hour rule for the 1st rd...

Either they get skipped, or replaced...

From the last draft (per the commish):

"I just sitemailed TulsaG asking him to make skinndogg's sixth pick just so we can move on with the draft. If dogg shows up and likes the pick and wants his team back, then he gets it. If we don't hear back from Navy2002 by the ninth pick, then TulsaG will pick that pick as well and that will be his team if skinndogg shows back up and wants his team back (a likely scenario).

If dogg doesn't show up or doesn't want his team back, then TulsaG will get to choose which team he wants and we will have to find another owner or let one of you guys take a 2nd team if you want it. I think this is the best way to proceed."

Amerk is a night owl and I’m sure he will make a call tonight. North has been in this league going on 18 seasons and, unless something is wrong, I’m guessing he’ll be checking in soon
