Holy ****, how is your grasp on reality this bad? You can go back and read the posts. No one argued that gas prices weren't rising. We just claimed that it was a natural response to the pandemic, not because of Biden. As I stated in a post from a couple months ago, the reason why prices rose is because many OPEC countries reduced production of oil with lowered demand during the pandemic. Once demand rose, increased production was slow to follow. What happens when we have more demand and less production? PRICES RISE! Hence why Biden is calling for OPEC countries "to move faster to restore global supply of petroleum to pre-pandemic levels."

Genuinely, are you OK? Do you have some sort of memory loss where you forget the arguments that other people make and swap in strawmanned versions?

If you don't believe me, go back and read the posts at the time. I'm making the same argument now as I did then.
If we are energy independent why would we care what OPEC does?
We aren't energy independent. We weren't under Trump. OPEC countries have oil reserves that dwarf ours.

If we were forced to only rely on our own oil, we would run out in 36 days. Look it up.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

You have gone insane. Excellent. US and Canada with fracking would easily be energy independent.

fracking IS Insane!

Momma Nature is already ****** off, and now you want to blowtorch her innards and extract her nectar??

Are you NUTS??

We have plenty of oil based on the time we have left to burn it.................IF we continue to burn it at our present rate of consumption.

The bottom line now is the same as it was then: The U.S isn't energy independent yet.

One definition of energy independence says it occurs when domestic production outpaces domestic consumption. For the U.S., the gap between production and consumption has been narrowing for some time, and the two figures have been running neck and neck.

Some experts prefer another sense of the phrase, which defines energy independence as total disengagement from the global energy market, or zero imports. By that definition, the U.S. is even farther from achieving energy independence.

Why the **** would you link something that just repeats the point I made, the same point that you called me stupid for making?

Also this was later in the article

"The price of oil and gasoline in the United States is driven by the world oil market, and that continues to be true even as we produce a larger and larger share of the oil we consume," he said.

He would link something that repeats the point you just made because he will disagree with anything you say, just because YOU say it. Even if he doesn't read what he links, if he thinks it disproves something you say, he will post it. And he thinks you are an idiot!
