Well isn't that clever. I felt good about my nomination for all of one minute.

I actually think it makes it more interesting strategically. You know everyone will have some awful pitching. So what’s the best way to utilize it?

In general, I agree. That's why I mix it up and in many versions, I will limit the years to 1920+ or something similar.

But once in a while, it's a free-for-all. That's when you get those great Earl Whitehill & Brickyard Kennedy stories. Frankly, I didn't want to take Hutchison, but I also didn't want somebody else to take him.

We're all going to get stuck with some really bad pitching. As Jtpsops noted, who can navigate the best around the crap we are stuck with.

if it happened occasionally to mix it up then i might agree with you.

but this round i anticipate some owners not being able to field a team. I can see being at the 120M mark with picks still to be made and not even considering teammates. what happens then?

Salary cap is $130 million this round. Four of the last nine 16x16 versions excluded deadball years.

Everybody will be able to field a team. Of course, the quality of the 9 teammates may not be as good as folks are accustomed to. Also, not all of these crappy expensive pitchers will be wasted salary. If you use the pitcher, the salary is not wasted.
