That is exactly why i love this league/draft. I can't count how many times my rosters got crushed in this league. You plan on a Great ss & 2nd and you end up with 2 guys that are 3 mill each and 2 that are worst on your bench at 4 mill each.

We should coin a term for when the player we want lasts until the pick before yours and then you're thrown into chaos and end up taking a panic pick that make no sense and you regret instantly and for the rest of the draft.

My example of the latter will be 1948 Vern Stephens

The salary split between nominated/drafted players and teammates has been consistent for most versions of this theme. It typically falls right about $60M each. The advantage of fewer nominated pitchers is it allows for more teammate pitchers. This version, the cumulative average salary of the 16 nominated players is around $58 million (not including partial seasons, so probably a bit less).
