The correlation between pick# and win total is a little bit stronger than the last time I ran this, at +0.24. The per-162 game win total varies from 86.4 (pick #1) to 75,6 (pick #24).

Still a lot of runs being scored for leagues 2 thru 5... Not so much for the other leagues.

The correlation between Division# and Win total also increased a bit, to +0.14. The difference between picking 1st in a division and 4th in a division is 83.5 wins vs 78.5 wins (per162 games).

For the first time using round 3 data, I ran a regression analysis on 2+ run winning% vs 1-run winning%. The correlation is negligible (actually slightly negative). The coefficient is -.02.

What this means is that (based on the data so far), a team with a 40% winning% in games decided by 2+ runs has an expected winning% in 1-run games of 50.3%. While a team with a 60% winning% if games decided by 2+ runs has an expected winning% in 1-run games of 49.7%.

Pretty much what I've always claimed... there is little to no correlation between being a good team (i.e., winning games by margin) vs winning 1-run games.

This is not surprising and looks like some good work. I am in league 3 and felt like we were scoring a LOT. I have always heard that 1930 season had great RL numbers here but those guys get normalized out. I have no data prove it other than my personal observations. The league also contains 27 Yanks but my experience largely is Ruth/Gehrig basically dominate many different seasons so as long as you get one of those you should be good. Its the supporting casts (guys getting on base in front of them) that drive up the runs. :)

Being a stats guy, I am always looking for outliers.... here is a doozy. The ratio of 1-run games to all games is roughly 25%. That means you can expect that 25% of your losses will be by 1-run (as well as 25% of your wins).
