It's been fun but it's time... Topic

I'm at the point where the game is fun for me as is. If some people have loopholes, advantages, etc. I'm not going to worry about it. Going to just try to get better, and see if I can improve enough to get some NCs myself. Heck, I probably get the most satisfaction out of doing rebuilds taking completely SIM teams and making them somewhat competitive.

If it stops being fun, I'll stop. I will say there is a lot that is fun about the game that can be easily forgotten if the only focus is on the perceived negatives. Matter of one's perspective I guess.

Like many before me I've gotten great advice for majique which is very much appreciated. Kinda bummed a little bit he's leaving. I was just looking at joining a conference he was in so I could play against him to learn more and see how long it took me to finally beat him. I guess that won't happen unless by chance he changes his mind and stays active in the game.

I had fully intended on waiting until the fall to "retire" but I can't continue to support a product that has clearly lost it's path. Empty promises, loopholes, antiquated conference alignments, etc is what we are stuck with. The "developers" have promised updates for years and we're still waiting. When a glitch is brought to the attention of WIS GD staff it's not uncommon that the reply is the glitch is a result of something a user did and not anything wrong with the programming. WIS GD is aware of a loophole that some coaches are using that gives them a huge advantage in game play - hence, NCs left and right. Who wants to compete with that? The latest recruiting glitch has apparently been around for sometime but hasn't been widely reported until recently. And there are other issues that make sticking around a lost cause. I've been a huge supporter of WIS GD in the past but no more. Someone reach out to me when an update occurs - a real update and I might be intrigued enough to check it out. Until then, it's been fun, thanks to the friendship over the years and good luck to all. Just hope many of you don't wait around as long as I did. It ain't worth it. And I will not be renewing TTATO. Adios.
Are you announcing your retirement the same week that you're starting a new job at Rockne/Wisconsin?

As one who recently got to talk to you and getting a sense of your passion for the game sad to see you go and hopefully there will something else that fills the void that provides you with the same enjoyment. I get the vibe you probably will. Also being part of TTATO fancy football I guess we won't get that rematch. Maybe someday down the road. Good luck and have fun.

Say it isn 't so. The WIS world gets darker and darker .....

These are sad times , very sad times ...

Now I find this post….I need to know what this loophole is. My NC record is less than 0.500. I’m glad to hear that the GUESS reports will live on, but TTATO was a ball to participate on.

You will be missed majique. You have brought things to the game and developed the community. It is disappointing to see you go.

CHEERS!

I think he took over those new jobs to dispose of his seasons.

I remember back in the day when Nelsonba was winning 12- 15 championships in a row or Pete or Mcbethal was running off a dozen straight, wow i guess they were all cheating? Sorry i don't buy that, i just think they were really good. I've been playing this game for 15 years and remember 1.0, to win consistently you ran the ball 80 times a game, it stunk. Personally i think this game is in a great place right now, the best it's ever been. Championships can be won with just about any formation, they can be won with an all run or heavy run, they can be won with a heavy passing game or all passing game or a balanced offense. I'm sorry Majique you can't figure out how to be consistently good especially since you have had a lot of really great coaches on your show tp pick their brains but to then start throwing out accusations people are using some magical loophole to win championships is bullshit and not fair to the great coaches of this game.

Pretty cool to announce your departure, then take a new job at Wisconsin and completely ignore the recruiting process. Swell guy.
Yep. Announce you're quitting on June 22 and get Wisconsin on June 23. I realize he could have applied before he quit, but still could have rescinded his application. An intentional move to screw up a team.

He didn't say that everyone who wins is a cheater. For you to act like you know with certainty that no one is cheating is arrogant and or asinine.

Just explain the cheating process or get banned. Maj get banned for tanking a team. I got banned once for switching my Dayton players positions before departing to Valp. The owner is a Dayton alumni. Or was. But anyways fairness my boys.

IMO, there is no cheating or secret difference maker that select coaches know. Like anything in life, success takes time and you have to put the work in.

For me, I’m always looking at what other successful coaches are doing (formations, substitution patterns, pass distance and distribution, down/distance tendencies, etc.). You’d be surprised at how much you can learn by just looking at pbp for an elite coach’s games.

If there is something I’m unsure of, I’ll run a test. For example, several years ago, I wondered whether I should use an extra blocker for passing, or put all 5 receivers in the pattern. I’ll run a season for both, and look at key stats (comp pct, yards/game, sacks, points/game) and compare across the two seasons. Many coaches do tests like that to improve their game plans.
