I meant if the player was traded in real life we can select any version of them?
also, what happens if we draft someone on IR in the initial draft?

Ill leave to Commish to decide but I dont think you can draft an IR guy in an initial draft. Also my understanding of SIM engine is if you trade for a guy you get the version the previous team was using....you dont get to pick a different version. They are either eligible in 1905 or not. Im guessing by your ranking that you are relatively new here.....WELCOME. But if you look at the list of owners, I think it will be very hard for you to "sneak" someone past this crew. So if a guy played in 1904/1906/1907 what draft can you take him in? 1906 forward? Not at all?

Yes that player would first be available in the 1906 draft

To build the initial player pool for 1905, I download the master excel files for hitters and pitchers which has all players from 1885-2025. I sort them chronologically and cut/paste all players from 1905 into a separate spreadsheet. Players that were on multiple teams that year have multiple versions on the list so I delete out all the extra versions. I then sort them alphabetically by their position to make the final list.

If a player doesn’t have an eligible season in 1905, then WIS doesn’t include him in the spreadsheet for that year. There really isn’t a way to track “IR Players” other than to manually comb through the list of players from 1904, 1903, 1902 etc looking for players who are missing from 1905 but have a WIS season in 1906 or later.

Sounds good. If a player is available in 1905 and doesn't get drafted but is on IR in 1906 can they be drafted in 1906? I'm just wondering how you construct the pools. I have mild autism so I have a strong preference for clarity on rules. Sorry if it is annoying.

In that situation, the player would not be on the 1906 draft list since he wouldn’t be on the 1906 spreadsheet provided by WIS. If he had been drafted and given a multi year contract, then the player would be listed on that team’s IR for 1906 and available to be used by the team in 1907 (assuming that is the year he comes back).

Confused about the ballparks. Is it ANY ballparks in WIS database or just those in play during 1905? The rules also state you cannot change franchises once you select a ballpark? Dont know what that means and I am guessing we will actually need 26 round draft if drafting the park is included unless one round is dedicated to parks.

Just trying to get clarity as I think this new league is filling in light speed for these days when it usually takes weeks.

The ballparks available in 1905. If I draft Robison Field then my franchise is the Cardinals. Once the Cardinals switched to Sportsman Park, I must switch to Sportsman Park. Since I am the Cardinals franchise (based on drafting Robison Field), I must stay the Cardinals. Later on I can’t decide that I now want to be the Pirates and switch to a different franchise.
