Apparently Fox/WIS is under the impression that the lack of growth is due to the inability for 78 coaches to reach their final destinations in the DI Big Six conferences vs a lack of marketing and appropriate advertising.
So a new world is created to further disperse the trickle of new players and further stagnate the growth in the current worlds in DI and DII.
As you can see in Smith we have 30 more SIMS now than we did 10 seasons ago. Yep, that's a real growth indicator there.

there are a **** load of coaches who just want to be in a world from day 1. I know thats why I am getting in. Yes there are a few who think they will have a better shot at an elite but thats not why WIS is opening a new world.

Say what you want, but the signs indicate that the move is premature and that it will have a negative effect on the other worlds. Especially since it's likely to be a more labor intensive and expensive 2-a-day world, lots of people are going to drop another team(s) to get into World Fregoe. Happened with Tark, and it took WIS giving away the product for free to temporarily fill the worlds up again. Hopefully in a few months we won't be sitting around lamenting the same fate.

Some people prefer the two a day worlds! I know you still wish the game was just like it was in Nov 2005 but the changes they are making are good. They also were making changes way before Nov 2005 and when HD started it wasnt all 7 1 a day worlds rolled out at the same time. They add new worlds to generate more money and two a day worlds generate more money. And so what if a few people drop teams they have in a 1 a day world. Yeah people in that world might not like it but WIS is gonna because that person is gonna now being payng twice as much in the same amount of time. I also think your idea that people drop teams to join a new is BS. people drop teams all the time, people come back after a few months or a year pf not playing too.
What happened when tark opened up is the same number of people were dropping teams but the people coming back after taking time off joined tark(some becasue it was new and some because it was 2 a day). Dont' Hate Guys. and dont worry HD will be fine and get better and better with each new change and world.

I am looking at getting into the new world for the two reasons you guys have mentioned this morning: 1) To get in a world at ground level; 2) I have a much better chance of getting the DI job that I want.

ok thats why you stayed in DIII for 15 seasons when you could already be in DI.

Actually, that is the reason some of us ended up in DIII for as long as we have as wed rather stay in a conference rather then move up to Division I and get stuck in the Sun Belt for 10 seasons because the lack of available jobs at a higher level conference are simply not available as we didnt join early enough...If WIS would actually fired coaches (which they cant do as often as they should as theyd end up ******* off paying customers)...the Elites wouldnt be bogged down with coaches who have been in place for 10 or more years that shouldnt be there in the first place. Also, getting in from season 1 is very appealing to many...If you have a problem with a new world...simply dont join.

I love the massive number of people who think they can't get a good job right away when they don't even have enough experience in D1 to even know if their assumption is right.

The fact of the matter is that in almost every world 3-4 big 6 jobs open every year and 3-4 major jobs in mid-majors open every year. (Give or take)

If someone in WIS has ever gotten "stuck" in a low conference job despite having a good resume because all other jobs were filled can they please speak up.

Um, I joined Naismith under this ID, essentially, in season 13. I am now about to start my third season recruiting at the University of Texas. The idea that quality D1 jobs are unavailble to coaches who are not in a world from the get go is simply a myth perpetuated by those in need of an excuse for their lack of determination.

Floating prestige makes this argument irrelevant.

Whose at an elite who didnt deserve it initially? Granted it takes a lot to get fired from them, once you are there. But it is not easy to get there in the first place?
2/7/2008 10:06 AM
Mully that data is old now. Do a world after it has gone through off season with the FREEHD promo. That is what WIS is looking at. Right or wrong it is. They are running with no sims at all in D3 and a massive promo to D2.
