Three interleague home-and-home series are next, against Chicago, St. Louis, and Montreal.
Game 85: Bill Lee isn't in peak form, but he doesn't need to be in this one. Three Riders drive in at least three runs apiece as the Goats fall, 10-3. Bill Robinson has two home runs and four RBI. Lee improves to 13-3.
Game 86: Ramon Hernandez blows a 3-1 lead in the ninth inning, allowing three runs. Milwaukee ties it in the bottom half on Ted Sizemore's double, but the Goats destroy Dave LaRoche and Skip Lockwood in the 11th, plating six runs, and win it 10-4. Milwaukee's winning streak ends at 13.
Game 87: Fred Norman wins his 14th game, with a little help from Bill Robinson, who clubs his 16th home run and drives home three. Ramon Hernandez throws a scoreless ninth for his 30th save as the Riders win 8-5.
Game 88: Leadoff man Ted Sizemore is 5-5, and #2 batter Larry Biittner adds three more hits, but the rest of the Rider lineup is missing in action, collecting only three additional hits (all singles). Tommy John allows 10 hits in only four innings and the Pi even things up with a 4-3 win.
Game 89: Montreal gets a complete game from Andy Messersmith while Charlie Spikes' error leads to two unearned Lyncher runs; Bill Lee takes the loss as Milwaukee drops a 4-2 decision.
Game 90: Ted Sizemore's seventh-inning double erases a 3-2 deficit, and the Riders put things away with a six-run eighth inning as they earn a split with Montreal, winning 10-3. Elias Sosa gets the win, his sixth of the season.
Milwaukee hosts Chicago (61-29) next, facing 10-0 Pat Dobson in Game 2.
