Tell me where I said that? You're bringing up **** that has nothing to do with the conversation because you're wrong and you know you're wrong.

Mike, what I said was if a pitcher (any pitcher) has 14Ks in a game, it's likely he pitched very well. What does that have to do with what Wang did or didn't do?

You also said if a pitcher only had 4 K in a game he probably didn't pitch very well. I present C.Wang-NY Yankees. If need be, I can provide you the list of the top 40 pitchers in ERA last season. 14 of them were unable to maintain the league average in K9. Did they or did they not pitch well?

Well, at least he tried mike. It was weak, but he tried. Where's the rest of the group?

So you're going to preface everything you state with a probably and pretend that saves you from stupidity?

You're probably not as stupid as I think you are. But I doubt it.

I had to shut down and reboot.
Then, stupid me, I opened this thread again. Kick my ***.

To use your words mike, it's majority. Most of the time, when a pitcher only Ks four, it isn't going to be a great game. You can point to Wang and I can point to 80% of the rest of the pitchers. Who's the dumb one?
2/21/2008 2:18 PM
Last year I remember reading a study on espn.com or a website like that on how pitchers with low k rates very rarely if ever have multiple good seasons in a row. This is due to the unpredictibility of the "balls in play". One year they may all go directly to the player but the next year they may find every hole in the field possible and fall in for hits. Anyways, the writer had many previous examples of groundball pitchers who had amazing seasons and then fell off the charts the next year and for the rest of their career. He predicted that Wang's '07 campaign would follow the same pattern. He was clearly wrong.

The dumb one is definitely you. I guess we could pull up QS from last year and find out what percentage had 4 or less K. Then we could pull up the big K guys who sucked balls like Cabrera and Bonderman.

Go for it. Be sure to look at all pitchers, not just the ones you choose.

Read up on the PQS while you're at it. You'll find exactly 0 PQS 5s with 4Ks.
