Dunkin Donuts has a new waffle breakfast sandwich...going to try that.

Was late today so no breakfast. Got some Chez-its out of a vending machine.

Tried one of those new XT burgers from BK. Got the one with A1 sauce. Not bad but not really special. The funnel cakes are bad. Sweet, but bad texture and no depth of flavor. I really hate BKs pickles.

There has been some indirect talk about weight and dieting on this thread.

There is a lot of advice out there about dieting. The big problem for guys is we lose weight different than women and most of the adivce is for woman. There is never a caveat that this impacts women more than men. I will start posting some tips for male weight loss.

Drink Diet Beverages: You may have heard a story that diet pop actually makes you gain weight...only applies to women. Their dieting is more strict than ours. They eat very little, and their metabolism shuts down and they stop losing. So drinking diet pop keeps them weak and poorly metabolized. For a woman the 200 calories a pop gives them a boost and might make them not cheat. For a guy the 200 calories is just that, 200 less calories. Lunch is 1000 cals or 1200 cals. We dont do the cheat binges, we either eat or dont. Drink diet pop, use nutrasweet or Stevia in coffee or tea. it will pay off big time in the end!

More weight loss tips for guys...Exercise:

You cannot exercise away your weight! Exercise helps but if you add up intake vs burned calories you will never lose weight with just exercise

Athletes exercise enough to eat a ton and stay skinny. You dont have the time. Also the main way guys start to exercise is weightlifting, and you are not going to lose weight with that.

Stay as active as possible. Take your girlfriend to the mall and walk. You get brownie points and you will cut some calories.

The bottom line is you will have to eat less. It is easier for men, so simple things make a difference.

Did navy beans and rice with celery as a side dish. Simple meatloaf as main dish.

More weight loss tips for guys...Morale:

I have a pair of shoes I love and my grandmother hates. She calls them clown shoes. They are a little stretched on the sides and the heel is a little run down on one side. She asked me how they feel, and I said they are so comfortable they dont feel like anything.

That is the problem with diets, be it peer pressure, real hunger or just being busy diest can make you feel bad.

1 Peer pressure. Guys make fun of guys on diets. Diets are a chick thing. When you go out with guys you dont want to order a small salad with dressing on the side. Dont!

I work different hours on Saturday, and most of the people I eat lunch with are not there, so Saturday I diet hard. I sometimes even have a slimfast and skip lunch. When you are with friends make small changes. Eat a grilled chicken sandwich instead of a burger. Dont get fries. Tell them you are saving money. Small changes = Big changes.

2 Hunger. You may hear that a salad with dressing and toppings have as many calories as a burger and fries...chick advice. They have the same calories, but a different volume. Bulk fills you up. A baked potato is bulk. Pasta is bulk. Toppings have calories, so try to be smart, but bulk makes you full and less likely to eat more later. Huge advantage guys have is sweets. We can live without them and women cannot. Avoid them.

One thing that may hurt you but can save a lot of calories...appetizers! When you see a list of items that have the most calories at restaurants Outback's Blooming Onion (or anything like it) is huge. Also anything battered and deep fried is bad. Avoid appetizers and get more food somewhere else.

Only fat guys make fun of guys on diets.

Losing weight is easy. Show some fecking self restraint in what you eat and get your cardio in.

I am not sure who your friends are, but I have been on a diet all my life and I think I have more experience on the subject.

He's probably talking about a good diet. Eating takeout and other crap more than a few times a week isn't a diet.

Actually whatever you eat is your diet.

I have tried to lose weight for most of my life, and have lost and regained several people.

Umm...what
If you added up all the weight I have lost and re-gained it would equal the mass of several people.

My last bit of diet advice for guys is always remember that diet is a scale. For every addition there must be a subtraction.

This allows you to look at food as not good and bad, bur more and less. East what you want, just less of it or less often.

Breakfast. Chick advice says eating breakfast makes you less hungry. Guys eat. If you can skip breakfast and it makes you eat more at lunch you will probably get a net gain. Also a big lunch might make for a smaller dinner.

Always feel good about dieting. One of the reasons I gained weight back was I usually went on a diet with a girlfriend, and when we broke up the diet became a memory of the relationship and food became my antidote. Dont diet for any reason other than you want to. Dont tell your friends and family, they will only hurt your chances of success. They will give you help you dont want, and make you feel bad when you dont need it.

Taking nutritional advice from swamp is like taking financial advice from a homeless guy.
