Nice 14 seconds, asswipes.
Asswipes????  Asswipes???.......Are you referring to the OILER'S.....Or the Hawks???
Well, it could be both, but I was referring to the Hawks.  They totally let down and let a team with no talent win the game.

I wouldn't say no talent. The Oilers are where the Hawks were 3 years ago. Watch the 2nd half they'll have. They will be a playoff team next year and be a Cup contender within 3-5 years at most.

That is, assuming they keep the core they're building together.

Did the Hawks win tonight?

Why do you have such a hard-on for the Hawks?  Besides, you said you were going to be a San Jose fan this year so get to it!

Viktor Stalberg, Jake Dowell and Bryan Bickell have been pretty good so far and I like their progression...Tomas Kopecky has great chemistry with Sharpie and Hoss and that makes him a potential top 6 forward...Troy Brouwer, along with Kane and Toews hasn't gotten going yet but is very capable of scoring 25+ goals, Dave Bolland when healthy is probably the best 3rd line centre in the league and Jack Skille was a top 10 pick and has loads of talent and upside. I think there's the potential for lots of depth the further along we go. I've said it before and I'll say it again, come playoff time they'll be ready to go and the infusion of "hunger" from the new blood will be an asset, not a disadvantage.
That being said, last year's team was the best Hawks team ever so there's no duplicating that. I just think that Championship teams who become complacent the following season are typically the ones that stay together, simply because the hunger and drive to win isn't as great.

you forget Claude Giroux is a 3rd line center ;)

Sharp -14............Kane -9............Kopecky -9...............Keith -7.............Hjalmarson -8

Wow, not good stats.  Maybe you need your so called fringe players (the DEMI GODS) back.

Glad to see the core of the team intact though????

Hawks will be contenders for 10 years with this core of players???

I'm loving these replacements for the departed demi-gods (said with sarcasm) so far.  Pisani and Potulny are solid and probably better than our 4th liners last season.  Skille has been flying and should slot nicely in Versteeg's spot.  I don't think Beach will make the club, but a year of seasoning in Rockford will do him good.  Stalberg hopefully with gel with the rest of the guys.  We have plenty of depth all around the forward spots too.  As for Turco....he's gonna make us all forget about Niemi with his play.  His puck-handling is incredible and he set up a big goal last night with it.  Crawford will be much better than Huet too.

I'm hoping I get a few more chumps.....err, I mean people who want to bet me they'll miss the playoffs.  My life revolves around sucker bets!!
Please bring back the "Demi Gods"?????.......................Signed CHUMP or SUCKER better number ONE!!!

Hawks 7th or worse..............BOOK IT DANNO!!!       Said with sarcasm of course...........lol

Yes I am a trash talker...........It's all in good fun........I would trade your early season woe's for a cup for "my Canuck's"

Right now, I'd settle for 6th in the West.  I love the core, but they're not solely at fault....it's the dreaded Cup Hangover that's killing us.

Denial.... the lack of depth on your team is killing you. Not a stanley cup hangover. The hawks lost 11 players and got back talent that can't play in the nhl this season. The bottom 15 players on the roster are average at best.... and that's just if im being nice.

Injuries to Campbell, hossa, bolland have hurt bad with no depth.

BTW... I'm gonna be real proud of myself when my prediction of 6th seed or less comes true ;)

The depth is an issue, but it's not why they're playing like hot garbage.  They're not playing with the same intensity and good decision-making as a whole.  Even guys like Keith have struggled with his game.  The core guys are good enough to get the whole team rolling with better all-around play.  They just haven't shown it.

Funny how no one else is bringing up the biggest thing the Hawks lost in the offseason. Not the depth, not the size or toughness. The single most important loss for the Hawks was chemistry. The group from last year has been developing together for years and it finally paid off. When you insert 11 new faces in any locker room, regardless of their skill level, it just won't work right away. It takes time and some teams never build that bond that Champions are made of. That being said, there is still lots of season left to play.

I believe Viktor Stalberg, Jack Skille and the rest of the newbies are good players and will become good depth players this season, they just need time to gel. The perfect example was the Montreal Canadiens and their high roster turnover last season. They didn't start laying as a team until very late in the season and look how far it got them (along with Halak's performance). It will come for the Hawks. Just be patient.

Good effort last night, especially from the 4th line.  Too bad we missed out on a point.

The hawks went up twice against the last place Preds and blew the lead both times.  Their D is just not good this season - as evidenced by the 57 goals given up this season.
