I also remembered, I think if a player hits for the cycle or pitches a no hitter / perfect game in the playoffs it doesn’t show up on their awards card.

I started adding feats to the notes card. If he gets Player of the Week, I add it to the notes. If he gets 7+ RBI in game, I add it to notes.

Please place an optional hiring priority on coach hirings. If I have a clear number 1 fielding coach targeted, but get outbid during the day 2 PM2 cycle, and lose my guy, that's fine. However, I should be able to choose the guy who is next in line.

Also, often times I'll offer contracts to the top three coaches, but since there is no choose-able priority and the system isn't smart enough to understand that my #1 priority is the hitting coach with the highest hitting IQ, I am forced to make a decision to withdraw the offers to my #2 and #3 choices. This may result in not getting my #1, #2, or #3 guy because I withdrew offers to the #2 and #3 guys in order avoid the sim from choosing them over my #1 guy even though I had the best offer on my #1 guy.

It would be nice to alleviate the above issues by having an optional priority drop-down of 1, 2 or 3. Too many times has the sim signed my #2 or #3 candidate despite me having the highest offer on the best hitting coach in the class.
+1 That is a great idea

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but how about a box on the free agents page that has a drop down menu to sort free agents by compensation type, so you can view only type A, type B, or no compensation free agents.

More stats, OPS+, ERA+, War, RAR, ISO etc.. This is baseball after all.

I feel like this is a minor one that Irks me but probably most people don't care about.

When players are on the HOF ballot it should only list the teams they actually played for, not every name that team has ever had including every owner. It would be kinda neat to see if a player on the ballot was a lifetime player with one team.

Fix the World Series penalty.

Every time my team make the WS I put some players on the ML playoff roster who won't be there opening day next season. An pinch runner. My best AAA hitter to use as a DH (can't carry all season in the NL). Best defensive SS or C in the organization.

It's always easy to go with 2 or 3 fewer pitchers in a short series.

The moment the WS ends, everything is frozen.

Add 24 hours to allow the WS teams, and every team with a Today Is Your Last Chance reminder, to designate or demote this players.

I think this falls under the category of easy things to fix. 24 hour timers are off-the-shelf code.

Can you change the positions on the HoF ballot to be where the guy played the most games and not his listed position at career end? Guys who were CF and SS get listed at 1B and it makes their hitting stats seem less impressive.

I would prefer to see prospects listed positionally as IF, OF, C, some guys IF/OF, the occasional C/1B, maybe 1B/RF,....etc.

If a guy is an IF...then he can't go play OF, etc. Real life guys don't (very often) switch from position to position every year.

I like the idea that it makes FA and roster construction a bit more difficult.

Definitely agreed with this.

Position players should be quicker to recover from fatigue. The formula for pitchers seems to work well -- where a pitcher can get down to 0 and be back at 100 five games later -- but position players who dip into the 80s take 10 or more games to get back to 100. Take 2 or 3 games off would be something more like real life.

With all due respect, I simply disagree.

I think the sim is too easy on position players from a fatigue perspective. If a player is all the way down at 80 energy, that typically means the owner didn't manage him or manage his rest properly to avoid that kind of fatigue. If that is the case, I'm of the opinion that the owner should be more often punished than rewarded. We should be building 25 man rosters as opposed to 17 man rosters and asking Admin to help us with our overly fatigued position players. I would recommend that they up the injury risk of overly fatigued position players. If a position player has a durability rating of 75, and he plays the full nine innings for the first 100 games of the season, he is going to have some fatigue. If he continues to be played in the same manner, despite blue fatigue numbers, the owner should be punished with injury more often.

In real life, when you train or compete while fatigued, it increases the chances of injury.

A few suggestions, several of which have been listed previously:
  • Change every round of the playoffs to best 4-of-7. It's incredibly annoying to play a full season, earn the bye, and then potentially be facing an elimination game after eight hours.
  • The ability to rank coaches during the hiring process would be fantastic.
  • It's ridiculous to be leading for an IFA for 48 straight hours and then have him suddenly sign with another team out of nowhere without offering you a chance to counter. You should have to lead for eight hours (2 cycles) to sign a FA or IFA. It's incredibly annoying to either have someone sign elsewhere immediately, or have someone jump you in the 11:00 pm Eastern cycle and then have the guy sign in the 3:00 am Eastern cycle. I'm on here a lot but do sleep occasionally.
  • A lot of the suggested options to customize worlds would be great as well. Give private worlds the option to set up a universal DH, change to an unbalanced schedule (maybe just have 2-3 schedule options that are consistent across all worlds), set hard caps on prospect budgets that can't be exceeded in the transfer budget tool, etc.
  • Bump up the number of players it's possible to include in a trade to four or maybe even five.
  • The "one day to make roster changes after the World Series" thing is a great idea as well. Even if it's just 12 hours.

I take great care in setting my auto rest in Edit Player Settings (95 for position players), as well as Player Rest, Defensive Replacements and Pinch Hitting. Do I check every player at every level for each of my franchises (I'm currently at 5) the two times a day I check in on my teams and adjust my pitching staffs? I don't. But the AI should be resting these position players when they hit their auto rest number, but it isn't happening. I also make sure that there are multiple players at each position so there are options. I caught my player at 87 (I said in the 80s, not 80) and immediately rested him. It has taken four calendar days to get him up to 95, so probably two more calendar days to get to 100. That is roughly 15 games my player will miss. I have 13 or 14 position players on every one of my rosters, plus full pitching staffs (with inactives in the minors).

So thanks for the unnecessary criticism. I was just trying to point out the inequity of position player recovery compared with pitcher recovery.

Maintain Sort Order

Every time I go to a page where I can make of offer, like for FAs, I sort the players by something other than the default.

Click on Negotiate. Make click Submit and Return or Return.

When you send us back to the FA page -
  • The sort order should be the same as it was, not the original default order. This has been solved for years in every other website and computer program I use. Must be off-the-shelf code for it.
  • The player I was looking at should be highlighted so I can easily continue down the list from there.
