I have been looking at '63 Downing the last 3-4 rounds, but his walk rate scares me.. So, I'm somewhat relieved he got taken and I won't be tempted, Instead, we'll grab a player from the talent-poor 1991 season...

Only one owner ahead of me needs SP1 but can't take this season, so I'm safe to make a pick I've been considering for about 5 rounds now and am pleased to find still available. Now he just has to not suck.

LOL, I was tempted to take Randy Jones multiple times, then I kept checking his stats for me in version 1 of this theme.

So I checked ... yeah, he had a dreadful W-L record, but his ERA was just about the league average and he posted a solid 1.21 WHIP and held batters under .400 SLG. Maybe he didn't like Tiger Stadium ...

Thank you for taking that temptation away from me. I really wanted him, but it would've been hard for me to fit in someone from that group at $3M+

Perhaps the only benefit of being (relatively) frugal in the first few rounds is having the luxury to spend heavily on the remaining positions (which includes the entire bullpen).
