What happens is we jump way ahead in the draft then it stops for hours for someone to pick at their allotted time.

ahhh, I see. I really struggle with these drafts on the clock. not a fun experience for me, but I understand why they are necessary for some themes.

Would be interesting if u have a draft where once a player is picked, the next team only has 30 min or perhaps 60min to pick or your spot is skipped, so there is no set time , my guess it would go fast, pretty smoothly and VERY few picks would be skipped. There is a time stamp on all the posts so we can tell when the clock begins once any pick is made.

Interesting concept oddson........not sure it would work though because, for example, let's say you have one person who needs to pick ahead you and have to log off at that time. You have no way of knowing if you are up in 60 minutes 75 minutes 90 minutes or whatever. Make's proxies tricky too. Truth of the matter is a lot of people have jobs, attend meetings or have other obligations that don't allow them the opportunity to be on WIS 24/7. I was busier this past weekend than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest, however I was very diligent about sending proxies, but I can see why some people don't. Do you really want the person just before or after you to know who you're picking? You also could be alerting other owners about some guys they haven't really thought about that are on your list. Some drafts go a little slower than others and I guess you just kinda have to realize that when you sign up for a draft. Just roll with the flow and enjoy the process. If you don't enjoy the process, don't sign up.

Coach, I tend to agree with you. I am not a fan of giving out proxies either , and some of us have more time than others to be engaged and that is totally understandable. Just spitballing some ideas. Reality is this is probably the fairest way to have the draft and you just have to be patient and understanding not everyone is as available as others.

I was in some baseball draft leagues with schwarze (he is like ash and dh555 combined) and he told me when his leagues were going too slow that in addition to the time slots he would also use a three hour rule. After the previous person picks you have a maximum of three hours to pick or the draft continues. When you’re drafting 25 players you have to keep it moving. Of course the three hour rule can only be used during the day, but he said it works well. I would be glad to use that rule in the DDL. This draft has been dragging on for a long time. We just did a 12 round Savage draft in less than 6 days. If anyone isn’t comfortable with a three hour rule I would suggest either giving someone your phone number so you can be texted when you’re up or join discord so you can be notified and you don’t even have to give out your digits.
