Let me get this correct:  Jon Kitna was not good enough for the Lions, but he can defeat the Lions with the Cowboys?  Aren't wins a mark of success?

Tough call.  I'll go with the Cowboys.  No one expecte Favre to repeat last season but the Cowboys were considered a top contender.

Kitna is a nice back-up.   The Lions play a lot of back-ups.

Is the NASCAR season over yet?

It is.   I think NASCAR shot itself in the foot with too many races out west and the Chase for the Cup(or whatever they call it).   You can't have 12 "teams" competing in the "playoffs" and 31 other "teams" competing in the same game at the same time.   To a man, the non-playoff teams say "You don't want to be the guy who takes out a contender" so they tiptoe around those 12.   Should have stuck with their roots.   Dumbass rednecks trying to be global.

Would the 31 non-Chase teams end up better or worse financially if they just didn't race in those last 10(?) events?

Well, since they would only get sponsor money for 26 races, I don't think they'd be better off.   Of course, I have no idea how sponsorship contracts are structured so I could be wrong.    In the 10/31 race, Brad Kezlowski finished 10th and won $115,308.   I can't imagine it cost him more than that to run the race.

What do you think Brett Favre's legacy be ten or twenty years from now?  Will he be remebered as a great QB for the Green Bay Packers for many years who never missed a start, or will he be remembered as the attention-whore "I'm bigger than the team" prima donna he's become over the past couple of years.

I imagine it will depend on the individual and what part of the country they're from.   I look at Michael Jordan as the biggest egomaniac in the history of the NBA whose "Look at me!!!" attitude ruined professional basketball.   I doubt you'll find a single person in the greater Chicago area who'll agree. Right now, I see Favre as a huge attention whore who isn't what he sold himself to be for so many years. 

Yeah, but didn't he alienate even his fans in Green Bay with his antics in the pre-season in which he eventually got traded to the Jets?  Wasn't he playing the "I'll go play the Vikings" card if the Pack didn't accept his un-retirement at that time?
