Folks, please read and comment as you see fit. Below are sitemails from me and teal_leo who is now trying to rescind the deal involving Bill Terry, Hack Wilson, Walter Johnson and a scrub:

I've never had this problem before and I've been around WIS a lot longer than you have. It has always been my experience that when an owner says "I'm ready to deal" and offers a trade that, if accepted then the deal is completed. Afterwards, one or both of the owners can post something for others to see but that is to announce the deal and to protect owners from the CRAP you're now trying to pull.

Exactly what part of your explicit offer "I'm ready to deal" followed by the offer(Terry and Wilson for Johnson and a scrub, your term) meant you were not really ready to deal? And furthermore, if you really weren't intending to make the deal then why didn't you step in when it was posted in the forum and say so? I'll tell you why, because the other deal didn't materialize until after that posting, which is after the deal was made.

nikospade - you have seen the sitemails. Unfortunately it looks like you're going to have to step in and set this straight. Thanks.

I'm sorry sir, but in my book a deal isn't a deal until it's confirmed in the forum. Another offer came in before I confirmed so I backed out at the 11th hour. I'll admit it's a raw deal but that's how it goes sometimes. Here is the original deal exchange, I have bolded and highlighted teal_leo's key words:

RE: BYOP Any Walter Johnson interest? Message:
OK, lets do the Terry and Wilson for Johnson and a scrub deal. We can look at Plank or someone for Lindstrom later.

Thanks,
JR

Sorry I couldn't send this response back to you before 7pm. I work evenings and have limited access to the internet until 10pm PST.

I'm not sure what you mean by player TBD. If you're thinking of another quality starter then my answer is no. If you're thinking Johnson and a scrub, then I'm ready to deal. Here are the two posibilities I'm seeing:

Terry and Wilson
for
Johnson and a scrub

Terry, Wilson and Lindstrom
for
Johnson, Plank (or some other good arm), and a scrub
