Must be hard living in the past? more hair, no gut, you could keep a woody for more than 5 min,wife didnt dream about the lawn boy? ..big woop Flames won the cup many years ago..Otto kicked in a puck...you guys rock! they should just give the Flames and their 1 player a pass to the finals every year..we're not worthy!..we're not worthy!

89 was a good year. Berlin wall fell. Communism imploded. See...the problem is we need a major world event to take place before we can win the cup, and the Canucklehead Country Olympics obviously don't qualify.

uh..uhm. all you canuck fans do is whine about how you ALMOST made it back in 94. at least we made another run in 2004. that's ten years more recent than your last hurrah! :>

And lest we forget, the 1994 "almost win" came as a result of a game seven off-side goal against.......let's see, who was it?.....oh yeah Calgary!

Oh is that the Canucks/Flames series in 1994 when the Flames blew a 3 games to 1 series lead?? If so....then what is your excuse for losing the other two games?

I guess the same argument can be made against Vancouver in 89. Why couldn't they win any of the other 3 games they lost? Better yet, why couldn't Smyl score on Vernon. Christ my sister-in-law could score on Vernon and she can't even skate.

We can play "what if" games all night but nobody would win because they Cancel each other out!

thought you had us by the short hairs when lidstrom scored on Cloutier from Center Ice in game 3.I forget the year but that damn goal took the windf out of the sail.Cloutier was never the same.

Deslauriers was awesome, but he is the only Oiler who showed up last night... sucked to see McElhinney's first shutout bid ruined in the last few minutes, but he still made the saves he needed.

Kinda sucks seeing the Oilers fall so far back after a strong start... takes all the fun out of the trash talk..

Oilers don't even have an active thread going on in here right now. Very indicative of the humiliation their fans must be feeling. Seems wrong since the Edmonton area is such a hockey hot bed supplying quality players to every other team in the league

so they fluked out 25-30 years ago and got Gretzky,Messier and Freddie Mercury...err i mean Glen Anderson..hockey hot bed my ***..EDM just bends over and takes it hard up the sh-tter,who would want to play in the armpit of the NHL..seriously ask yourself that?..its not trash talk if its true..sorry

I think you're missing my point. Take a look at where a lot of the Canadian players in the league were born and played their minor hockey. You'll find a lot of them coming from the Edmonton area.

5 in a row.. well done... hopefully this means the Flames annual slide has occurred and we can go steady to the playoffs... though changes still need to happen... no where near a contender yet and there is no point in going into the playoffs without going all the way
