The PL has clinched but we still want the last game played because we just alwyas try to get them in even if they "don't matter." I am off to spend some time with the kids as I promised them if we cleaned we could go to the arcade. My 4 year old loves her some ski-ball. Plus its a great place to meet single moms.

* For looking so incredibly pathetic on paper... the '77 Mets have managed to score a few runs and come from behind. I'm really suprised... that team looked dead in the water offensively.

* Also suprised the A's haven't scored more. With the .400+ OAV Henderson w/ 100 steals a walking double... and 2-5 hitting .280 or higher with 15-18 dingers (Armas in the middle with 34?) Seems they have struggled to hit or score much of anything.

Kingman has done his part it seems in every game... where the A's offense been hiding?

Unless you guys wanna vote me off... I was hyping the A's... but damn it they looked like the most well-rounded, best team of them all. Decent lineup, great outfield range, solid starter, and a killer pen with '80 Mike Norris... AND a few other options down there that could pitch a few.

guess that's why they play the games...

but a nice squeeze by stevey in the top of the 9th tied the game and cost Carlton the win ...

3 in the top of the first for the Mets, then stranded 5 in the next two innings, and then nothing out of the offense til the top of the 9th. Should have stayed with Koosman longer, he pitched better than Seaver.
