Not nearly as well as you'd expect from a LF. He's a combination of my KC LFers(who are killing me):

i took over a team that had the #1 pick in the amateur draft at the beginning of the season. i signed some guys and we actually made the playoffs as the 2nd wc. should i be proud of myself?

p.s. this wasn't in some pile o **** tarded up public world. this world is listed as the 7th best world in green's recent ratings

What are your true feelings about basic roster moves? You've been a little vague on the matter.
4/28/2010 9:51 AM
Of course you should. You have the prettiest crayon drawing on the fridge.

They're horseshit. It's a turn-off to any new owner out there. It's cumbersome and time-consuming. If you're on the fence about HBD, the basic roster moves will push you off.

The error made most often on advanced roster moves (IMO) is to forget to uncheck something.

ie. You're going to activate/deactivate a player, you check off one, change your mind and check a 2nd, forget to uncheck the first. You then either get the error that you have more than is allowed on the roster or you leave yourself with only 24 on the roster. We've all done it once (at least) - no big issue.

But....

How would you propose to prevent the obvious rookie mistake with advanced moves; releasing/waiving a player accidentally (using the above scenario)?

You should NEVER release a player making BL money. Everyone should know this. There really is no point in it.

But, to the point of your question, I'd recommend checking your moves before hitting submit. If you're not comfortable making 20 moves at a time, make 4-5.

ROOKIE. You don't know better. First team. What do you put in to prevent it?

Can a team ever have too many shortstops?
4/28/2010 11:16 AM
I assume anyone playing this game knows how to read. RTFM. Or ask a question. There are many, many ways to find out what you need to know before you do something stupid. If you still insist on doing something stupid, you are going to do something stupid no matter how cumbersome the system is.

If they can hit, no. If they're the good glove, no hit variety, yes.

Ok, let me phrase it another way;

There is a level of stupid where you say "ok, you were stupid, you got what you deserved".

Let's use an analogy of someone using Microsoft Word for the first time to write a report.

Dude writes a 2 page report, then clicks the "X" in the upper right hand corner to exit, not knowing that the document is not automatically saved (he's new). A pop up that says "Do you want to save the changes to Document1?" appears.

If he says no, he gets what he deserves.

You are proposing the equivalent of no pop up whatsoever; he should have known better.

Are you still sticking with your answer?
4/28/2010 11:28 AM
Uh, I'm implying that the "submit" button is your "Do you really want to do this?" pop up. Moves are not made automatically. You have to enter them. You have to submit them.
4/28/2010 11:33 AM
Just about any software worth it's salt has a confirmation pop up of some sort. Would you be adverse to seeing that after clicking submit (that lists, one more time, the transactions to be submitted, and a confirm/return to transactions option)?

Should I drop Hoffman off my fantasy team for F. Liriano?
4/28/2010 11:41 AM
When is deathinahole going to stifle?
4/28/2010 11:46 AM
I would not object to that. I would not object to a siren going off and alerting the entire office that you're goofing off on the internet if anyone releases a player.

I think dropping Hoffman and picking up no one is a good idea.
