I considered Pierce over Drexler to pick up a few more 3s.  I am fond of the Pippen/Drexler pairing though.

Doing some research for this draft I found a story that said something to the effect that after the dream team in 92 - Pippen said Drexler could be as good as Jordan if he had Tex Winter coaching him - but his fundamentals were just far inferior.

actually, it was a in a recent article about tex going in the hall of fame

The greatest compliment I ever heard about Tex was uttered by Scottie Pippen to Michael Jordan on the Bulls team bus after they had been on the Dream Team. If Clyde Drexler had Tex Winter as a coach, he could be on the level of Michael Jordan (I'm embellishing). Bottom line, Clyde was not a fundamentally sound player. MJ had Dean Smith & Tex Winter to emphasize the fundamentals of the game in his developmental years. Clyde didn't have that. To have two players like MJ and Scottie Pippen recognize Tex's greatness in that way, should be a measure of why Tex is in the Hall of Fame, and it should be a wake-up call to coaches at every level to dedicate a portion of every practice to the fundamentals of the game. It should also tell you that MJ and Pip's games were built on more than just pure athleticism. Their game was built on a solid foundation.

there are some guys I would love to add to my team still but looking at the holes on the squads and the fact that 20 guys will get drafted before I go again.. I don't expect to see many of them come back to me.

Not sure I trust Scottie's judgement about Glide (who seems underrated by historians to me)

Man it was a long 30 player wait until I got to pick again....everyone I wanted was gone....

Earlier today I picked....

Tracy McGrady----7 straight seasons averaging at least 24.4 PPG(including 2 scoring titles).   Good all around player----in that 7 season stretch he averaged 6 rebounds/gm and 5 assists/gm.   7-time All- Star, 5 times named either 1st team or 2nd team All-NBA.   Only major knock----his teams just sucked...only played 38 career playoff games.

Ben Wallace-----If I lost toughness at the C position by picking the finesse-big man in David Robinson(although the Admiral was a force in terms of blocked shots), I picked up some intensity at PF with Wallace.    For someone who never really scored, to be a 4-time All Star is really impressed.   Four-time defensive player of the year and was a major force on the Pistons' 2004 title team.  Five straight years of at least 12.2 RPG...including 2 rebounding titles.   Lots of blocks...lots of steals for a bigman.   My only hope is his only shots would be on offensive putbacks(EFG of 47.6%).

I need a very durable guy to play in the paint since I took Walton last round. In fact, I probably need a couple quality bigs. But when Walton is healthy I need this guy to stay out of the way on offense but be a force on defense all the time. Also, I need more rebounding on this squad. I love Isiah but he doesn't really board at his size and Kobe is not the greatest rebounder either.

Thus Dikembe Mutombo makes since for me.

Not a guy that demands the ball though he can score on offensive rebounds.

8 time All star
4 time defensive player of the year
2nd leading shot blocker in nba history

led the league in rebounding 4 times
Good FG% when he does shoot
Played almost 37000 minutes - 41st all time in the nba
Memorable playoff performances!
Finger wagging!

This has to be the best guy on the board.
Led the league in scoring and in steals. Legit 3 point threat. 90% ft shooter.
Finals MVP. HOF. Perennial all star. Ego to match!

Rick Barry.

Really tough call here, but I keep coming back to a couple of small guys and three big guys in particular.  Hard to guess who might still be available in the middle of the next round.  At this stage of the draft there are still lots of talented studs, and all of them come with wrinkles and warts.

I'm going with a guy who was an uber-athlete for the better part of a decade, an excellent defender and efficient scorer who got the line a fair bit, an active offensive rebounder, and someone who won't demand the ball but can't be left alone by opponents.  A six-time all-star, he'll be very much at home running the court with Shaq, Pippen and Drexler...

Shawn Kemp.

The good thing about picking Kemp is that in about 10 more years his kids will be able to populate an entire other team.
