Flyers 6....UGH!! Topic

Simon Gagne, who played in just 25 games this season due to a concussion, has been riding the stationary bike for upwards of 30 minutes with no after effects, he was pleased to report on Wednesday.

The all-star winger fully expects to be healthy for training camp in September.

“I’m feeling very good right now. If you look it’s been almost three months since the last injury, and from this point on I’m very happy the way things are going. Symptom-wise, I think I’m 100 percent.

“I started a couple weeks ago to get on the bike and see if everything is fine. Sometimes you think you’re okay, but when you start working out you start to see some symptoms come back, but not now. It’s a good sign. If you look in front of me, I have the whole summer to get back into shape first and another four months before I play a game. I’m very happy the way things are going right now.”

Wiggy,

you should read an article in the Winnipeg Free Press yesterday that stated that the modern Philadelphia Flyers are like the Winnipeg Jets of the 1980's...great bunch of players and a great team but will keep butting their head unsuccessfully against the better players and team Edmonton Oilers (in your case the Pittsburgh Penguins).

Could be winnerpeg, a lot will be told this offseason. Flyers are pretty well set with their core players being signed. The Pens will have a lot of dealmaking to do this summer, lots of UFA's including Roberts, Malone, Hossa, Laraque, Ruutu and Orpik. Still have to keep large chunks of cap space for Malkin Staal and Fleury available as well. Not saying they will fall apart but they have a big agenda ahead of them.

Sounds pretty official although the only report so far is in Finnish. Sami Kapanen is headed back to Finland to finish out his career in KalPa. Gonna miss him, lost his scoring touch years ago but has the heart of a lion. That play in the playoffs where he somehow finds his way to the bench after a Darcy Tucker hit so Roenick could score in OT will go down as one of the toughest plays in a long history of tough guys on this team. Good luck Sami.

Sad to see him go but it does help the Flyers by opening a roster spot and freeing up $1.25mil of cap space. It is official and has been reported by some Flyers writers as well as the Finnish writers.

The Flyers have traded center Ryan Potulny to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for defenseman Danny Syvret.

Marty threw out the first pitch at the Phillies game on Monday...he's such a cutie. And he had his cute little son with him. It was Flyers night at the game. A bunch of the guys were there...

Go to the Flyers website to watch the clip.
