Granted, we still shouldn't have lost to Iowa, but maybe that loss will be to this year's team what the home loss to Florida State on February 14th, 2001 did for that year's team (in real life). They made the Final Four that year, and won the Championship the next - all brought into focus by one bad game.
8/14/2009 8:11 AM
Well, that was a bit of an embarrassment. Good game though. We're definitely not a good team yet. Our offense is lacking and we are subpar defensively at too many positions. Rest assured though, once I get the prestige up a bit and bring in some more guys of my own, we'll give you a run for your money.

We miss you in Allen. That conference really took off after you .
8/14/2009 2:14 PM
Good game, cyben. Yeah, I enjoyed my 14 seasons at Fordham. The program has definitely had some hard times since I , but I'm glad that the Ivy League blew up.

Ugly game. We'll be making a shift to fullcourt press before too long. We lost this game badly...fell behind by 20 in the first half against a team playing slow-down. No chance after that.

Mixed results from our first attempt at a fullcourt press. We forced a ton of turnovers, but we couldn't stop them when they got close to the basket. Where we really fell short was on offense.

We would have lost this game if Miami had shot FTs decently. I'm not sure about whether we should be using the Press yet. I guess we'll just soldier on. Luckily, there's some small margin for error.

We were well ahead for most of the game, and leading by 10 with 11 minutes . Over the course of that last 11 minutes, we scored 7 points and allowed 27. That is a collapse. Ultimately, it doesn't hurt us that much in RPI, etc., but it indicates that we have a way to go with stamina before the Fullcourt Press is really viable. Leon Jones will never get better on stamina. I don't know about some of our younger guys. Anyways, we're still learning.
