Olmedo Cabrera

I am dumbfounded.

I have my own player who's headscratching drop in performance caused me to crawl out from under my rock and into the forums:

Roy Haynes

46 HR, .611 SLG and 1.020 OPS last season -- not exactly crazyinsanegotnobrain, imo. So far through 113 ABs this season, he's hit 1 HR. He's on pace for 5, with SLG of .311. I was hoping it was simply a slump, but this thread has me ready to abandon hope.

arcade, what would make you conclude that it isn't a slump? There are 16 other guys in your world with .OPS > 1.000 right now. More than that number are on pace to exceed 40 HRs. At least to a first order, doesn't that seem to say that there isn't some systemic quantum shift downward that is affecting all good power hitters?

Your guy Haynes doesn't seem, at least to me, to have the glaring imbalances in his ratings that were true of swamp's unidimensional hitters.

Arcade, welcome to the club. I can point to a bunch of normally-elite players in my league who are suffering the same level of dropoff.

This update is messed up.

Once the proprietor of the candy store puts a particular kind of candy on the shelves, he should never, ever take it back for any reason.

There, did it help clarify the debate to state one side of it so clearly?

If that candy is called "crack," then you are correct.

To answer your question, I conclude that simply because he's *my* hitter, and in cases such as that, I always assume the worst. It's just sound strategy.

tbh, growing up in the 80s and thinking 40 HR was alot, I've always hated the proliferation of 60+ HR seasons in HBD. I'd like to join a world that has it's record books prior to the update wiped clean.

I just want Roy Haynes to hit more than 10 HRs this season :p

The draft class in my world is the worst one I have ever seen, this update sucks.

Remember when they reconfigured the OVR formula so it stopped over-valuing pitching stamina? Would the same thing be in order now, with power being suppressed?

Obama's health care plan is terrible, this update sucks.

So we all agree it sucks. Did we all write to WIS and let them know?

I think Glen Beck is an idiot, this update sucks.

Swamp, if by "it" you mean "my team", then yes, I agree. But I didn't submit a ticket to let WIS know.

If by "we all" you mean a small group of 2-5 people, you finally got it right.

So why did you say the update sucks a few posts back?
