BTW, my next-door neighbor and close friend is an African-American man who grew up in Mississippi and is the nicest guy you've ever met. He's an engineer for IBM. He's married to an African-American woman from SoCal (who looks like Serena Williams if Serena hadn't played tennis, and became a housewife). They have three great kids... and they live in a house in the suburban Bay Area that is conservatively worth $800K. I guarantee you that he faced some horrible racism that we have NO CONCEPT of, and that through perseverance and faith (very religious family) he overcame to provide a great life for his family.

Here in AZ, most folks have heard us called "Mississippi West" for years. Georgia has moderned up some I hear tell. I have a friend from near Savannah. He says Georgia is NOT near as bad as it used to be. Kinda "Alabama light" is how he refers to it. Y'all still wear hoods and burn crosses occasionally........ but nowadays it's much more of an historical nod than it is serious. Nobody really thinks you can just do what you want with a "colored" anymore........ ya got to throw them some spendin' money so's they won't make a fuss. They's all down in the "bottoms" anyhoo.

You can't isolate this argument to just America. The argument is about overcoming adversity. There are plenty of Jews in America that faced adversity elsewhere and overcame it.

BL dodged both my questions. Typical Liberal.
Wait, what? What questions did I dodge?
Don’t play coy. Do you think my parents had it tough when they arrived in the 70s with $100 and did not speak English? And do you agree that Jewish people face discrimination as well.
Of course they did. I thought that what a rhetorical question.

Obviously, Jewish people faced discrimination. But not nearly what blacks faced.
You are not Jewish. How do you know? One of my friends is named Michael Smith. He is black. People may discriminate against him when they see him but on email they are fine. I have another friend and his name is Greg Weinberg. People discriminate against him based on his name. Don’t have to even see him. You have no idea what it is like to be a Jew.

Are there more African Americans or Jewish people in the US?
Wait, are you saying that, because I’m not Jewish, I’m unable to evaluate the impact of discrimination on the lives of Jewish people?

That's impossible to answer Boris. All you Jews look alike so's you really can't tell if you're seeing a new one are just somebody you already saw.
You should have different colored little hats............. or put designer propellers on the top of 'em......... everybody could come up with their own design........ like a "brand" or a "coat of arms" or something.

It's kinda hard to be really discriminated against in this Country when you've always owned 98% of the media ain't it?

My family for one. I know. Bad Luck would be shocked at what I have dealt with and have to deal with.

Last I checked, you aren’t black.

Maybe take your own advice?

Except I said I dont know What they face. You claim you do and it’s more than me. When I told you the two good friends I have who are black have stated I face more. You conveniently ignore that. Why?

I realized just how much of an advantage I had being white when I was caught with enough meth to send me to jail for 10 years, but instead of booking me, the cop ground it under his foot and told me that this **** went out with Pat Boone, what the hell are you doing with it? He then let me go scott free.

I also once got busted with a big bag of weed in a bowling alley parking lot. The cop asked me if I'd rather go to jail or give the weed the air test. I said air test? He said yeah, watch...and emptied my bag into the wind, letting it scatter all over the parking lot. He then grabbed my pipe and tossed it over someone's backyard fence.

If I'm of color, do you think I'm afforded those two get out of jail free cards? Hell no.

Got pulled over one time going down Edes Street in Oakland....Edes and 98th. Super rough part of Oakland. I was delivering flowers to a business. The officer came to the car and said, kid what are you doing in this part of town? I told him what I was doing. He said, let me follow you to your delivery and then escort you out of here. He then followed me all the way to my desination and then back out to East 14th and back towards San Leandro.

Please don't ever tell me there's no such thing as white privilege. I've seen it first hand, many times.

These stories tell more about you as a person than they do about white privilege.
it says I was a dumb kid who was lucky he was white or he may be institutionalized by now.
1/11/2018 1:28 PM
Again, the entire premise of your argument is that you think the discrimination that blacks face shouldn’t be enough to hold them down.

Yet, by your own logic, you have no idea how bad it is because you aren’t black.
1/11/2018 1:29 PM
You are not a kid anymore. But dumb. You have retained that. Ha ha
