With one pick left, I have 12 hitters and 12 pitchers. The salary for my 12 hitters is $99.6 million. The salary for my 12 pitchers is $99.3 million. Lots of extra PA and IP (like most everybody else).

There is no specific point I'm trying to make... just thought it was interesting.

I really like this theme. Props to calhoop for coming up with this unique idea. Imagine how different the draft would be if there were a salary cap (something like $120 million).

Also, what if each user could choose what N is for each of the 9 rounds (as long as they finish with two N=1, 2, 3, 4 and one N=5). For example, pick #1 selects Maddux and decides to make that N=5. Pick #2 takes Koufax and makes that his N=4 pick, Pick #3 takes Silver King and makes that his N=1.

Glad you are enjoying this draft. Variations, like a $120mm salary cap, are definitely worth considering.

As far as altering the draft order, something like 1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5 might work. I think giving the option to name your "N" each round, for example allowing the first round pick to be used 5 times, would not work. A team with 5 Babe Ruths would be hard to compete against.

Agree with Schwarze on this being a great theme. Nicely done calhoop. I'm enjoying the no salary cap. But totally agree that a cap would inject a lot of extra strategy. But changing the draft order would be interesting too. I was thinking no cap, but changing the drafting sequence to 1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5 would be pretty interesting too.
