My wife has layer hens, and 4 of them ended up to be roosters (a fairly normal error ratio for 31 chickens).
It's wise to only keep one, so 3 had to go.
On Sunday, one of them pecked me on the bridge of the nose and drew blood as I was feeding them. As a result, I demanded he be selected and this morning is now meeting his maker at the poultry processing place.
I'm thinking that "Never peck the nose that feeds you" is catchier than "never bite the hand that feeds you". What do you think?
