PACKERS: Datone Jones is latest DL bust drafted Topic

Fairly unbelievable that they give the ball to John Kuhn in that situation. Another pathetic outing by the defense, and the special teams have joined them.

This looks a lot more like the team that I expected going into the '07 season than the obvious fluky 13-3 team we got.

I don't think this team is a lot worse than last year's team. However, this year's team has a couple injuries, and all the close games that last year's team somehow found a way to win are going the other way.

13-3 was a fluke. Week 1, 16-13 win over the Eagles on a Crosby FG with 2 seconds . Week 2, 31-24 win where a 57-yard TD pass (on a slant) to Jennings put the Packers ahead with just over 2 minutes . Week 6, a 17-14 win over the Redskins where the Packers' winning TD is a fumble return by Woodson. Week 8, a 19-13 OT win over the Broncos. Week 9, a 33-22 win over the Chiefs where the Packers took the lead with just over 3 minutes on a 60-yard TD pass to Jennings. That's 5 wins that could've easily been losses.

This year they're finding ways to lose those games. Week 4, 30-21 loss to the Buccaneers in which the Packers led until there were 2 and a half minutes . Week 9, 19-16 OT loss to the Titans. Week 10, 28-27 loss to the Vikings on a missed Crosby FG at the end of the game. Week 13, 35-31 loss to the Panthers on a TD in the final 2 minutes. 4 games already that could've gone either way. If this team had last year's team's luck, the Packers might be 9-3.

It seems like a play action never fails in that situation. Give a hard fake and 99.9% of the time a TE will be wide open in the end zone. Worst case, Rodgers can at least run the ball.

Come on, John Kuhn is money...lol. I couldn't believe they give him the ball.

We were winning these tight games last year.

Mike McCarthy announced today at his press conference that punter Derrick Frost will be released... no replacement as of yet.

NO PUNTS THE REST O THE WAY!

They do need to bring the average down after carrying two punters on the roster for the entire 2004 season.

one as the punt off specialist after safeties?
12/1/2008 2:49 PM
and for the record I was not a fan of the FG call - if your team can't get one yard they don't deserve to win...BUT if they don't and then the defense gives a FG on a drive that started at the one, they really don't deserve to win

The chances of both of those things happening seems very low.

Clearly, every loss was his fault.

Given how overdue this move was, it does scream "SCAPEGOAT".

****. This is painful. Brutal. Terrible.

Even with the punt downed at the one, there was little doubt the Texans would get into field goal range in record time.

On the rare occasions that one unit does something well, the next unit to take the field screws everything up. The holding penalty by Moll on the last drive was a killer.

And it was a bullshit call!

But seriously, when the Packers gave up the ball with around 2 minutes remaining, I think everyone knew the Packers were gonna lose that game. Their only hope of winning it was a pick-6, but those have been getting a lot rarer lately.
