Its obvious  Byfuglien was a bigger pat of your team than what management thought..come playoffs i think you guys will miss him even more
He was awful in the regular season, but we will miss him in the playoffs, unless someone else picks up that area of the game.

Andru, I have to disagree with you on your last point.  Byfuglien was a monster in both of the last two playoffs, especially against Vancouver, and I think he has found something that was missing in his game before.  Same with Andrew Ladd.  Between those two guys in Atlanta, they are the Thrashers entire team.  Atlanta should be next to rock bottom this year (above Calgary of course), but those two seem to be carrying that team on their shoulders.  Every time I watch the evening highlights, Byfuglien and Ladd are miraculously carrying Atlanta to another unexpected victory.  I remember having the discussion with you last year about Ladd, how I expected he was ready for a huge breakout, and it appears both he and Byfuglien have arrived.

Ladd was the guy I wanted to keep the most.  He's a grinder-type with a huge heart.  Buff takes weeks and months off in the regular season.  Maybe getting traded woke him up a bit, but I'd hesitate to say he's a complete player after two solid months.

See...now these last two games are why the haters/doubters/hockey retards should STFU.  After the debacle in Calgary, the defending champs went 3-1 to finish the circus trip 4-2 and have some nice defensive play going, which in turn leads to quality chances.  It would be nice to see a few guys pick it up offensively a bit....3rd line, I'm looking at you....and Hossa is still not 100%, but I can't complain about a whole lot.  It was obviously going to take some time to get this team to gel with the new players and there is still work to be done on that count, but there is simply too much talent here to stay down too long.  NO team is perfect and we sure as hell weren't last year.  The stretch we have coming up....9 of 12 games at home...will be very telling.  Either we take control of our destiny or we continue to tread water.

I vote we take the bull by the balls and take control.

sounds like the hawks are turning it around.   I'm still depressed the flyers lost 2 games in their last 17

Byfuglien is a MONSTER......He provided space for Toews and Kane.  Put it this way?  If you took Byfuglien off the Hawks last playoffs and put him on Van or SanJ, Hawks lose both series. IN CONTRAST..... If you took Kane of the Hawks and put him on Van or SanJ last playoffs the Hawks still win both series.  YOU WILL miss BIG BUFF the most, but like I said earlier (during off season threads) Kane and Toews will miss BIG BUFF more!!!!!!!

No.  Vancouver still loses due to the Luongo default.

This reminds me of all of you telling me I was wrong in saying Niemi was good enough to win the Cup behind the Hawks...I shut up until we made the final and was even nice enough not to say I told you so. Then you all said the Hawks were stupid for letting Niemi go, with some of you even going as far as to say he was a 4-5 million dollar goaltender. We all know how that turned out...just ask the Sharks.

You won't hear another opinion from me on the Hawks or any of their former players until April at the earliest. Then we'll talk about the season Byfuglien, Ladd and the Thrashers just had, or the Hawks playoff chances, or how any of the players playing elsewhere are doing. We'll see...

Let's check....

Byfuglien...24 games played...........25 points=Atlanta's leading scorer.
Ladd..........24 games played............24 points=Atlanta's 2nd Leading scorer.......

P Sharp is the only Current Blackhawk with more points than the FORMER Blackhawk (castaways) (suporting cast) (role players) (depth players) in points per games this season?

Kane 24 points..........Not bad
Toews 19 points.............Not Good
Hossa 18 points...........Not Good

11/29/2010 12:38 AM
Wow..the assessment of Toews and Hossa simply on total points is about the dumbest thing posted here. Flat-out stupid, ill-informed and blatantly wrong.

Well done!

Andru, I can agree with you on a lot of points..all i was saying was that come playoffs Byfuglien played a huge part in team chemistry.. he was huge in the playoff wins vs the Canucks,if it was the same this year, i say VCR wins, just because Byfuglien wasnt in the anchors face raising hell..Luongo sucks and folds come crunch time.. i am in no way slagging the Hawks.. having a Canadian captain , your two top dmen being from Canada,  the Hawks are already ahead of our Euro captain, while Gillis broought in Hamhuis ,a good Canadian kid,we still have the French f-ck  in net.. Luongo  has never won when the chips are down and never will..
