I also once got busted with a big bag of weed in a bowling alley parking lot. The cop asked me if I'd rather go to jail or give the weed the air test. I said air test? He said yeah, watch...and emptied my bag into the wind, letting it scatter all over the parking lot. He then grabbed my pipe and tossed it over someone's backyard fence.

If I'm of color, do you think I'm afforded those two get out of jail free cards? Hell no.

Got pulled over one time going down Edes Street in Oakland....Edes and 98th. Super rough part of Oakland. I was delivering flowers to a business. The officer came to the car and said, kid what are you doing in this part of town? I told him what I was doing. He said, let me follow you to your delivery and then escort you out of here. He then followed me all the way to my desination and then back out to East 14th and back towards San Leandro.

Please don't ever tell me there's no such thing as white privilege. I've seen it first hand, many times.

These stories tell more about you as a person than they do about white privilege.

Rates for recreational drug usage are the same for black and white teenagers. But blacks are significantly more likely to be arrested and charged with simple possession.

This argument has always bothered me. Don't do drugs and it's a nonissue.

Black people are falsely charged more as well.

It seems that the right's argument here is that because people CAN succeed, ot's no big deal. I care about equality.The argument simply cannot be made that all races have equal oppottunity because the stats show that they do not. The issue here is really about whether black people are worse at life overall, whether in large numbers they are more lazy and dependent on whites.

What opportunities are minorities lacking that whites have? The stats that you have posted show that some cultures have been less successful than other cultures. Your stats don't show that some cultures have less opportunity than others.

I think what you think of as discrimination and what discrimination actually is are two different things. At least in the context of what we're talking about.

No one is saying the KKK is riding around lynching people. It's waaaay more subtle.

For example, two teenagers go into a department store. No one pays any attention to the white kid but security follows the black kid around to make sure he doesn't shoplift.
