I hate to keep bringing things like this up, but these are things I wonder about this game. I don't know if this is an example of why I think there's some hidden quirk in the computer that runs this SIM, or maybe someone on here can explain this so I can understand it.
In the 7-19 am game between Corbs' team (Home) and mine (Away), My player, Mud Al' akojola (first middle-eastern born player in the MLD, I think), was named the number 1 star, but he was really outplayed by Corbs' player Raffi Nurmisalo, who got a hat trick. My team won the game 7-3.
Why was Mud named the first star? Because he got two goals in a 7-3 victory? Do you have to win the game to have the number 1 star in a game, or do those particular rankings mean anything? Are they all just "Stars of the game"?
I don't believe the last part of this. In 0-0 shutouts that I've been in, they always have the two goalies being the only stars, and the one who faced the most shots is always the number 1 star. At least in my games so far.
My point in all this is this: If the computer can be arbitrary in something that to me would seem straightforward (i.e. give the number 1 star to the player who was the best player on the ice that night); then it can be just as arbitrary in deciding which player it will favor out of any particular draft. Therefore, player stats, for the most part, do not indicate who will be a good or bad player.
(Isn't OCD a wonderful disorder?)
