I was really looking forward to Ohio State/Oregon and Penn State/LSU. Looks like Auburn/Northwestern was the Game of the Day.

Santa Clause is a nice little myth for kids. But I could see religious objections. Barring that, let the kid believe.

I was getting my freak on at 5:10 AM.

The Mountain West teams have had some nice match-ups.

Same to you. I think every conference should be part of the BCS. Which, of course, means the BCS would have to expand.

4 tandems. Or six starters with the other two as your only LRA.

Not necessarily. They've just had some nice games.

No. I was watching Penn State/LSU at 1:46.

I don't think anyone said that.

Given the relative success of the Big Ten do you want to apologize to the Big Ten as a whole for your comment about them not winning another bowl game?
1/2/2010 2:20 AM
No. I expected OSU to win. PSU played in a swamp. That fits the Big Ten style and they won late. Northwestern was two touchdowns back a couple of times. They kept getting breaks to keep them in the game.

Why would anyone apologize for the failures of the Big Ten in bowl games given they're history? They suck.

I have no idea. I know I wouldn't. I'd also like to mock Cincinnati for believing they could play with the big boys.

Winning every game on your schedule and not having a chance to play for the national championship + overachieving with a team he knew had no future... are those the 2 reasons Brian Kelly couldn't wait to get out of Cincy?

Being from Michigan and currently residing in the South (South Carolina), do you really think the Big 10 is that awful or do they just play a different style of game than some other conferences?

Don't some aspects of Big 10 style of play translate to pretty decent NFL talent?
1/2/2010 7:25 AM
Brian Kelly said "I like being in the Big East. It's the easiest route to a BCS game." So I think BK knew two things: 1. The Big East isn't on par with the other BCS conferences. 2. You're not winning a National Championship at Cincy.

The Big 10 does play a different style. Unfortunately, their style doesn't do so well when the have to score early and often to stay in the game. Slogging it out in the mud like PSU did does work quite well. If RichRod can get his **** together, the Big 10 style may go away. I don't know if the style translates to NFL talent as much as talent translates to NFL talent. It's not like the Big 10 has to recruit 2nd tier type players.

Five more bowl games today. Which one are you most looking forward to watching (if any)?
1/2/2010 8:25 AM
Okie State/Ole Miss or SC/UConn. The other three look like complete turds.

Do you miss the days when the culmination of the college football season was New year's Day? We now have, among others, the hotly contested International Bowl (So. Florida v. N. Illinois) and the GMAC Bowl (Central Michigan v. Troy) played after the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl.

Does corporate sponsorship of the games make you feel more inclined to purchase their products?

Do you feel obliged to eat Tostitos while watching the Fiesta Bowl?

I'd like the Big 4 bowls to be the last 4 games of the college season. And I'd like the Championship game to be played on Saturday.

No, it does not. But you never know what the subconscious is doing beneath the surface.

No, I do not.

Could you throw the ball 70 times in a game? Would your shoulder get sore?
1/2/2010 10:09 AM
I could for 9 months out of the year. I don't play Dec-Feb. I'd probably get a sore arm/shoulder. If I threw full capacity with each throw, it would be few days before I'd be able to do it again.
