That takes Baltimore off the board.

Blue Jays also off the board with that selection.

I'm here, but my draft strategy was foiled in the last few selections. I'll be back with my pick before my slot is over.

All right, we had other ideas in mind, but with so many teams off the board, we'll copy schwarze's selection from the last leg and go with Jose Oquendo - STL

Just to be clear, we have no intention of picking on schedule unless everyone else has picked ahead of us. jstew, do as you will, but we assure you that we will not pick ahead of you if you want to give specs more time.

the Red Sox war room is having a heated debate over who to select here...

I didn't feel guilty picking ahead of specs, as I was drafting a 2B, which he already has on board in Little Joe.

Red Sox select Astros RHP Don Wilson

Little Joe hasn't done much for me in the SIM, maybe this will be his year!

Just one more pick in the draft. Who will jose select? The suspense is killing me!

We could use a little more power in the new Yankee Stadium, so we'll go with someone who was third in IsoP last season and fourth in SecA: from your San Francisco Giants, Kevin Mitchell.

Very pleased with those last two picks here in L.A. Well done, specs and jose! Also, doesn't hurt for the Astros to lose another quality starting pitcher while we emerge pretty well unscathed. Looking forward to this season!

a few odds and ends:

1. What's our league number?

2. This is probably a bad, bad, BAD sign for my Rays (and for the Brewers, too): only 2 teams didn't have a single player drafted. Hmmm. Guess who.

3. The Royals just might lead the league in slugging: they drafted McGwire, Berkman, and Jim Rice. And they already had George Brett. Impressive.

4. Good luck to all. Looking forward to playing David to Jose's evil Goliath.
