We're not even halfway through the draft and I'm already nervous about what kind of options will be left down the road. It's going to get intense quickly.
Definitely going to be interesting. Nobody knows, really, since this is the first time through for this league.
This is going to raise intriguing questions about whether it makes more sense to spend heavy earlier in the draft when more options are available, or whether you gain an advantage by saving some dry powder for later rounds when other owners are pinching pennies to stay under the cap.
There are also some eras that have been lightly trafficked so far. Picks by decade so far:
- 1880s - 2
- 1890s - 5
- 1900s - 11
- 1910s - 10
- 1920s - 4
- 1930s - 7
- 1940s - 22
- 1950s - 21
- 1960s - 25
- 1970s - 7
- 1980s - 7
- 1990s - 4
- 2000s - 15
- 2010s - 23
- 2020s - 14
So a fair amount will depend on which eras we end up in. The 1940s to 1960s have been heavily mined, as have the 2000s to the 2020s. But the 1970s to the 1990s is still mostly open terrain.
