Hehe.  Sadly, I know all three.  If stranded on a desert island with an old phonograph and one 45, I have to go with Yellow Ribbon.   I could do back-up singer dancing while I slowly go insane.

DawnT23?

I'm certain that's what I'd call myself after listening to Yellow Ribbon non-stop for 48 straight days.

Sterling Whipple's "Then You'll Remember" or Mary Kay James' "It Amazes Me",  which is the better 70's country non-hit?

Sorry, I've never listened to country.

I think I've read it in the forums before but couldn't find it through a search but, is it true that if I offer a drafted player his demands and he comes back saying he is considering it, I shouldn't offer more?

He was a probably won't sign guy who I'd like to sign and I have some prospect money to up the offer.

Thanks

No, do not increas your offer unless he asks for more.  As a side note, if you meet his intial demands and he rejects it(just plain out or by increasing his demands), you will get a comp pick(assuming he wasn't a comp pick).

So I should only offer what he asks for if he comes back with a higher number? I got him with pick 13, and I like him a lot so I'd rather have him than the comp next year. Just trying to figure out what gives me the best chance to sign him.

Thanks again

Yes, if you want him, offer exactly what he asks for when he asks.

Do you believe in Santa Claus?
12/23/2010 10:15 AM
No.  But I do have what I think is a funny story.   When I was 6-7, the age where Santa is questioned, I heard noises in the living room after I had gone to bed. I get up and figure I'm gonna bust my parents putting stuff under the tree while saying "HA!  I knew there was no Santa Claus!"  I get about halfway there and turn around.  I decided that if there really was a Santa and he saw me, he might keep my stuff.   I told my parents this a few years later and they said "Yeah, we were playing with your electric football game.  After we started, we wondered if it was too loud."

Did you ever go looking for your Santa gifts after that, and if so, did you find them?  If so, what was the best/worst hiding places that your parents used?
12/23/2010 10:29 AM
I wasn't really a "digger" so, no, I don't think so.   However, I got this

the next year and I saw the box under their bed.   It was a weak effort to hide it as I simply walked by the door and saw it.

What are you hoping to get for Christmas this year?
12/23/2010 2:23 PM
Don't care.   I suggested to everyone that they to give the cash equivalent of whatever they would have spent on me for Christmas to the local animal shelter.  I'm 47.  If I want/need something, I go buy it.
